I only heard from my son Wednesday when he was at the airport in the OSC lounge they had computers so he was on that.  He called again when he got there around 7:30. I have heard nothing sence then. Waiting on his address so I can send his computer and phone to him.  Then I am sure we could talk more.  He did not have long to talk almost like his I am here and ok call he did when he got to GL.

Aaron says there are a few sailors from ship 03 div 017 with him in Charleston. Are there any other moms out there with the same?

Our son was able to call us about 3 hours after he got to the base in Charleston on Wednesday evening.  He needed to have his Christmas leave flight info submitted by 0700 on Friday so it was really a hassle to make arrangements. Finding a reasonably priced flight was impossible.  We loved spending time with him at GL but, his liberty was very limited while we were there.  He was allowed more time on Sunday but, we had to fly out early so we didn't get to see him at all.  He was able to get back into Chicago with some others in his division and had a good time.  We can't wait to have a relaxing time with him at Christmas without time constraints.

Chandler called!  He loves it at GL and is coming home for Christmas!!  Ryan's Mom he said Ryan is there so that is cool they get to stay in touch.  I will send him his cell tomorrow so he will finally have contact with us!!!  I am just a bit excited about him coming home!

He only has his cell phone because one of the other sailors in his div was staying until tues when they flew out & I gave her Matt's phone to give to him at the airport

Hmmmm...wonder what her hold up is.  I have heard that she has canidate school first, not sure what that is exactly.  Maybe that has something to do with it.  She doesnt have her cell phone yet because I done have an address to send it to.  I know they have pay phones there, wonder why they cant call because I know she would if she could.  This is making me crazy(ier) lol

Proudksmom, Matt called  from the Atlanta airport & again when he got to Charleston, but he has his cell phone with him. He says he is finished with all of his duties at about 4pm every day. He's been calling a couple of times a day. I just don't think he knows what to do with himself after their regimented schedule in Great Lakes. He should class up in Jan after the Christmas holiday.

Dodie-- She left for Pensacola Fl.

Did your sailors call right after they got there or was it a few days??
