Sherri, Sorry your son doesn't much like A School...hopefully, he'll like Power School better. How does he like Charleston? Has he made good friends & getting out on the weekends? My son will be finished w/A School in June...he's an EM. He loves Charleston. We're going to drive his car & golf clubs out to him in May...I think he misses his golf clubs more than the car...lol.

Hey ladies!!  Miss you all, it's great reading where all the young men and women are now.  Mine is in GC and graduates A school on April 1...he's MM.  Doesn't like it much right now, but he's hanging in there....He's coming home for about a week right after graduation!  Can't wait!  He'll be over in GC for about another year.  I know many of those I met on here are getting ready to head off to Guam, Japan, undisclosed areas, etc.  Good luck to all of you!  Catch me on FB is you want!

Aaron prefers the cold so he really missed the deep freezes and the snow we had in PA this winter. We're going to visit him in SC in March so we'll be able to enjoy a Carolina spring. We can't wait to spend some time with him.
Having our son stateside and relatively nearby is wonderful. I dread the day when he may have to go to a far away station. it won't be for awhile though. After A school he still has a year of training.
Best wishes and prayers for the safekeeping of Shelby and Jacob as they begin their first assignments.

My son was 017.  He is graduating A School today in San Antonio and Tomorrow is off to his first duty station in Pearl Harbor.  Now I have a reason to get my Husband to take me there.  We will be going there of course when it is snowing here and Need some warm weather. Glad to hear all is well since BC. Proud2b I will pray she will enjoy her time there.

Hi Lou2 and everyone,  My daughter Shelby also arrived in guam on tuesday after a tearful and nervous goodbye and flight.  Especially nerve racking was the layover in Japan all by herself and a 12 hour or longer layover and didn't know what to do.  Somehow I am not sure yet she grabbed a hotel room between flights and got some sleep.  She was very upset when she was sent to guam, She wanted San Diego which all her friends did get or at least in the U.S.   She cried a lot before boarding the plane and so did I.  She was determined not to like it there but I think she will adjust soon.  What a beautiful place to be if you have to be away from all your friends and family.  I hope your sailor is doing well also and you too.  It's so hard but I am so proud of them.

Hello everyone, it is hard to believe that my daughter graduates A school in less than 2 weeks.  So glad that she will then be within 6 hours of home and we will be able to see her a little more often.  I too love when everybody posts how their sailors are doing.

Annemarie my daughter was also in 017, Is your son enjoying our weather this week.  It has been in the high 60s almost everyday and today it is to be a high of 78.

Hi annemarie, I think of all of the support everyone gave me from this group when we were going through BC and I also like to hear how all of our sailors are doing.  I imagine it is going to be a long haul for most of us moms and girlfriends while our loved ones are a part of the World's Greatest Navy!  Is your sailor enjoying Goose Creek?  My son is happy with his school, I think he is a little bit sick of the snow though, lol.

I was happy to see someone from div 018. My son was in his brother division 017 and I know they did a lot of things together. My sailor is at Goose Creek. I hope Moms from this PIR date continue to comment on how things are going for them. It's nice to touch base.

Hi ladies, can hardly believe it has been 74 days since PIR, seems like just yesterday we were all counting down the days for it to happen.  My sailor is in A school at GL, havent seen him since 1/1, but get to talk to him a couple times a week.  I miss him alot, but being able to actually hear his voice makes a world of difference.  I hope everyone is doing well and prayers go out to all the sailors going to their new assignments.

Lou2,

Best wishes to Nate and prayers for his safe keeping and for your strength to deal with his absence.
