I haven’t been on here for awhile, but love all the updates about our Sailors and hope everyone is doing well.  Nate left Tuesday morning for Guam.  He says that he will be there for at least 3 years.  When I spoke to him yesterday (it’s a 22–24 hour flight) it was a little before 11:00 am our time and 2:00 am (Thursday) his time — 15 hour difference, he sound good but exhausted.  We’ve decide to Skype only on weekends since when he’s asleep I’m up vice versa.  Besides, he needs to get settled and does not need anyone pulling at him right now.  AND I don’t want him up at odd hours just so he can contact the United States — that’s a ridiculous expectation.  Always the practical Mom.  I’m thinking that this is such a great adventure.  I know that he will be working, but to live in paradise — very lucky. Nate said that it is hot and humid.  Better than 23 degrees, I told him!  I plan to “suffer” with him sometime next winter.  Gotta go, stay well.

Very sad news from GL from my Sailor son. A just graduated Corpsman was killed on the train tracks returning from dropping his mother off at the airport after graduation. I can't even imagine the sadness all around. Send your Sailors love!

Cal Sailor Mom, my son doesn't share any details, not that I would understand any of it if he did. He does let me know when tests come up so I can pray him through it - lol. PS: I am from CA also, Sacramento area.

Cal Sailor Mom, My son is an ET class 1115.  We only talk with him on the phone on weekends.  I email him during the week but he doesn't have his own internet service yet so we keep it short.  He's scheduled to get his own service today.  He told me his class just phased up and are finished with math. We hope to get his truck to him within the next month.  It will be great to see him but I guess it'll only be on a weekend.

Cal Sailor Mom, I bet our ET's are in the same class - 1111-T? Mine has a test in Basic Electricity tomorrow...

I wanted to go but will not be able to make it.  He seems fine with it. He will be  leaving the next day to go to Hawaii any way, so we would not be able to spend much time with him before he goes.  We will have to go and visit him when he gets in Hawaii.

My son is in San Antonio 2 more weeks then he is done with A school then to his first duty station in Pearl Harbor Hawaii.  It has gone fast that we look back, but not when we were going through it.

@ Cal Sailor- Cedical Corpsman. The harbor in the picture is home. Now you can see why life in the Navy called him. He is in school until April and then off to parts unknown. I was as surprised as anybody it came so soon.
