proudksmom, oh my word, that does sound disheartening.  I know my son waited around 3 weeks after his leave for school to start, and he waited almost 3 weeks after PIR for leave.  So he was on hold for about 6 weeks too.  I figured he would be bored, but he said there was stuff to do so it wasnt so bad.  He also waited almost 2 weeks at the start of BC for others to arrive, it was crazy.  Thank goodness we have each other on hear to commiserate with, lol.  Helps the time go a little faster when I can get questions I have answered by people who have experienced this all before.

momclf-I know your frustration....I am a planner too and things are so unpredictable with my daughter in aircrew.  She has been there since 12/8 and waiting to class up. She has passed all PFAs but others on PT hold and some that arrived after christmas have already classed up.  Guess it is a random thing, just hope she doesnt get discouraged. Sounds like it could even be a year before she starts A school.  Hurry up and wait!!  LOL

Annemarie, hi, thinking the snow isn't as bad as the cold they are forcasting for the weekend and monday, yuck.  My son seems to be enjoying GL as well, when he finally gets his orders he is hoping for an east coast assignment.  He actually told me that he misses home alot more than he thought he would.  His A school isn't finished until the end of April and then he is thinking about C school, so it is all up in the air.  I have to say that I hate not knowing what will happen I am a planner, so it is driving me crazy.  I also got the Keel book a couple of days ago, I was a bit dissapointed, hoping there would be more casual shots of our sailors instead of generic photos.  Isn't it funny how well our children know us?  My son knew I would want to see it too.  Take care.

OK so third snowstorm in 2 weeks with over a 2 feet of snow Maine coast). 20 below this weekend. Obviously my son is having no trouble with the GL weather. I do wish I heard a bit more about school...

I received my copy Keel a few days ago.  I didn't know my son ordered it and wondered what it was when mentioned here.  When I spoke with Aaron he told me "I ordered it for you Ma 'cause I knew you would want it".  Now of course the damn computer screen is getting blurry again thinking about it.  I really miss him.  we plan to visit him in Goose Creek sometime in the spring.

momclf    --  I'm in PA too and I love the snow, my husband hates it and Aaron would rather have GL weather than SC's. He's a NUKE so he's hoping for CT rather than HI or San Diego

momclf.............I do not miss the weather in PA at all.  But two weeks ago when we had 2 inches of snow/ice here the school was closed all week.......LOL  Abbe is loving the chance to see the snow in GL...........I tell her she is crazy!

We are a balmy 35 here in PA today, school closed for the whopping 2 in. of snow we got today.  More snow thurs into fri.  I will be glad for spring.  Wish my sailor was somewhere warm for A school that would give me an excuse to leave this cold.

Dodie...It is almost 60 here today.  Wait till our weather really breaks, he will love Charleston.  It is beautiful there.
