I received the Keel Book today...DVD last week. My son is really liking the 50 degree temps in Charleston. I told him we're expecting 4-6 inches of snow & below zero temps Thurs...he just laughed:)

momclf,  I have not gotten my son's keel book yet.  Hope it comes this week.  I had a great time at Great Lakes last weekend and my son is coming home this weekend.  He loves his A school but, he really wants to get it over and move on.  He is hoping to get Riverines.  I plan on spending as much time as I can with him while he is still so close to home.  It will be sad when I can see him so much, I will then truly be an emptynester.

I got my copy of the Keel last Friday.  I didn't order a DVD, my son told me since he was in div. 903 he wouldn't even get to be in the hall during graduation, so I didn't bother to get the DVD.  I'm kind of wishing I had now, because then he could at least get a chance to watch his own graduation!

Pam I totally agree with you about the DVD, we got ours the other day and watched it immediately.  I got to see my son march past the camera, but that was it.  I thought the divisions who were on the ends didn't get any notice.  Did not receive the year book yet though.  How is your son doing in A school?  Mine just started last week, he has been on hold this whole time.  He likes it alot, which makes me happy, I was worried that he wouldn't.  I am happy that you are getting the chance to spend time with your sailor.  We are hoping to maybe go out in March sometime to see him since he won't be done with school until May and he can't come home as we are over the 300 mile radius.

I got our DVD today still waiting on the Year book. Mine is in San Antonio and loves that is warmer then home(Michigan). Next week they will find out were there are spots to choose from for his duty station.

Still no DVD or Keel book here. Am I the only one who hasn't received theirs? or just the last one to get mine?LOL.

I hope everyone's sailors are doing well and loving school. Mine stayed at GL and loves school but not the weather.

I went to Great Lakes to see my son this weekend and when I got back the DVD was here.  I watched right away, I too was disappointed that they had omitted some parts.  But I guess they had to do that for time reasons.  But, I did get a good view of my son as they were marching in.  He was on the outside row closes to the camera.  So I was happy about that.  He was in Div 018 at the far end so there really isn't much of them on the DVD.  Too bad they couldn't have several people taping each focusing on one Div and put together a DVD according to each Div.

We received a phone call from our sailor, Aaron, (ship 03 div 017) just as we were watching the PIR DVD.  The DVD was great.  I'm so glad we ordered it.  I was a little disappointed, however, because some parts were omitted such as the excellent soloist.  I wonder why it was cut short because the entire ceremony wasn't very long.  It's still a precious memento.

Got the Keel book yesterday....looked to intently through all those pics looking for my son until I realized that they were all wearing white in the PIR pictures and realized that the first half of the book was generic and wasn't even my sons PIR group. Bummer... atleast he made the group pics. :)  Hope the DVD arrives soon.
