Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

For those of you from warmer states (like me!) who may need to buy a coat for PIR. Check out jcpenney's website today...they are on having a one day blowout sale and they have some beautiful $200+ coats on sale for less than 1/2 price.

jessicat i have a long jacket it's a full body... so i think that would be warm enough to warm me up in the snow!!! :)

molly i think i will just wear a boots, black leggings, a long dress with a brown jacket... and a gloves of course... also a scarves i think!!

fyrwife i will go with emily's idea then the rest of my letter after that day will go straight to my sailor on the PiR and i am personally gonna give it to him :)

Would anyone have an idea on when to stop sending letters to our SR's? I know that there is a time lag between when we send them and when they actually receive them. At some point, maybe a week before PIR the letters will no longer get to our SR's before they graduate?

ok ladies, i live in iowa and dont layer to much, long under wear underyourclothes is good,, the main thing is to keep your head and toes warm.. dont wear too many socks or your feet .. one pair is fine,,,, im wearning jeans, tank top, shirt and a jacket with a hood, 1.00 gloves (but them at walmart when you get there) 11 pair of socks and slippers shoes,,, if it in the upper 30's lower 40's you will be fine... but what do I know I life in this yucky crap year after year....lol just pray for no snow... hope this helps

WE'RE ALL ALMOST THERE!!!! I'M SO EXCITED I ALREADY BOUGHT MY BLUE CANDLE TODAY!!! AND I ALREADY HAVE MY STUFF PACKED AND READY TO GO IN NO TIME EVEN THOUGH I DON'T HAVE A FLIGHT AND HOTEL BOOKED YET LOL

CAN ANYBODY TELL ME I'M NOT SO EXCITED????
