N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

TG stands for Training Group., From my understanding ..Hope that helps

Comment by Lisann on November 17, 2015 at 3:36pm

This is a silly question.. what is TG stand for?  I did find my sailors division and what the division number means, but not sure what TG stands for..

Just a reminder that those eligible to adopt their SRs for Christmas Day have to be immediate family members....no bfs/gfs/fiances/friends will be allowed to do this.

Comment by diannep on November 17, 2015 at 3:32pm

sourpatchkid:  They most likely will release the SRs who are being adopted for Christmas early in the morning....Not sure of their return time,, but I would imagine early evening.  Hope it works out for you.  Any way you can fly very late on Christmas Eve so you could be there first thing in the morning for your SR?  I know you would be exhausted by that night but what a wonderful day you would have with your SR.

Comment by diannep on November 17, 2015 at 3:29pm

Too funny, ellen.  Yes, they have gotten much better about misplacing SRs.  They lose hardly any of them now!  Just kidding!  They run a "tight ship" (sorry for the pun!) up there....and are aware of most anything and everything your SRs do....or do NOT do!

Comment by ellen0502 on November 17, 2015 at 2:59pm

Getting ready to start your divisions discussions. Please check the ship number with your SRs division and let me know if anything is incorrect. If your SRs division is not listed please let me know that too.

045/046 Ship 11

047/048 Ship 14

049/050 Ship 06

051/052 Ship 12

804 Ship 04

907/908 Ship 02

NOTE: Please be aware that this is the time of year that the RTC likes to move divisions to different ships.

If your SR lets you know their division is changing ships in the next few weeks...NO WORRIES! The RTCs  version of "Hide and Seek," when played this time of the year, is their way of preparing for the holiday stand down.

They usually don't lose too many recruits in the move, and those "lost" will be found within the first couple days. The lost recruits may be cold, hungry, and afraid of the dark after being in a moving box for so long, but they will catch up in training and graduate on time.

Rolling laughter

Comment by FireTeamLeaderWife aka FTLW on November 17, 2015 at 2:40pm

The reason we don't make a Group for each ship/division is that there are so many of them. With six to eight TG's at RTC at any given time that's an average of 60+ Divisions....4800+ recruits. That's just too many for us to get around too :-)

So we make a Group for the PIR date/TG and then we will open up a Discussion Forum within the Group (it'll be right above the comment box) for each set of Brother Divisions since they train together.

Even then that is a lot to monitor. We veteran moms volunteer our time and so spend the majority of it here on the main wall of the PIR group. We do go through the division discussions to check them but the best place to ask questions and get advice is on the main wall. Also, the PAGES section has reference material that iis available to read at anytime

Taylor_NavyWife, The RTC has said there will be no Sailors flying out on Friday. :)

If you can stay until late Saturday evening that would also give you time at the airport with him.
