N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

There will be no sailors flying out on Friday or PIR Day....so the earliest will be Sat.....Yes, Beachmom, maybe you can get your own flights later on Sat. afternoon or evening so as not to miss any time with your sailor!

I guess I'll change my return to Sunday, I don't want to miss seeing him off at the airport!

Thank you for the information diannep I appreciate it, I will book accordingly.

beachmom : I also wonder if he's met others he will go to school with or if they share that information. I'm hoping to get to at least spend New Year's day with him.

Thanks ladies

mjtk07 my son is also a Nuke.  We are currently booked to return on Saturday expecting he'll fly out to SC on Friday.  Our tickets can be changed, although an open flight on Sunday could be a problem maybe later Saturday if he doesn't leave on Friday, but won't know for sure their travels plans until a few days prior to PIR so that's what we did.  Wonder if they've met & discussed they are both Nuke, mine didn't plan to share that information.

Those flying out most likely will do that Sat., possibly Sun.  But I'm figuring Sun. flights may be pretty full.  They won't know their flights until PIR week....If you want to make sure, book your own return on Sunday just in case---you can visit at the airport with your new sailor.  Friday will be a "Liberty" day for the sailors.  GL A School sailors will have Liberty (daytime) through the weekend, returning early to mid evenings to A School base.

I'm trying to decide when to book my flight to come back... My son flys out for Nuc school in SC after PIR does anyone know when he'll fly out or how to find out or even if I can... Or would a recommendation be to plan to stay through the weekend... Feeling a little lost this group eases so much anxiety sometimes... Thnx in advance for any info
