OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

my boyfriend is also going to goose creek to be an MM (machinist mate)
Paul will be an EO going to Ft. Leonard Wood MO until March.
My son just arrived at Penscacola FL yesterday, he called last night....and he got the shock of his life. I told him in the mist of our conversation that it was 10:00 at night and he said...."NO..it's 9:00!"... I replied. "Ah, no it's not, it's 10:00 at night EASTERN time, it's 9:00 at night Central time, so, you must have forgot to change your watch to Eastern time"...he went in panic mode! He was supposed to "check-in" no later than 9:45....which means...he hung the phone up VERY quick and went to report.....good Lord...I hope he didn't get in too much trouble.
Besides that, he said he has 2 room mates and they seemed really "cool"...so, that's a good thing. He's very driven to be the top 10% of his class during this schooling....good goal for him.....
He's Aviation Electronic Engineering.....
Rob (my Seabee) is in Texas at Sheppard AFB for Construction Electrician. When his class starts it will last 99 days.
Heather - Culinary Specialist - Great Lakes 4 weeks
Lee = FC - Great Lakes about 18 weeks.
Greg is at Sheppard AFB for UT waiting for school to start - hopefully SOON as it's 13 weeks and they told him to expect to be done by April 22.
Gabe is at Great Lakes for GM school. He just finished his INDOC this week. He expects to be done around April, however was told he will probably have a three-week hold before getting started, which may delay his graduation.
Matt is in Great Lakes taking pre classes before A School starts for GM. He has now expressed an interest in Riverines.
My son's PIR is 2/13/09 and his A school is damage control. Any way of knowing the possibilities of where he will be? I haven't heard anything yet. ty
His A school will be at Great Lakes for Damage Control.
Michael is at GL for GM. He will finish SCC tonight, then be put on hold for ATT. He thinks he may be on hold for a month and a half. Michael has an interest in VBSS once he gets to his fleet. We will wait and see.
