OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Edwina - I just sent Katie a care package and hope it arrives by 10-8-10 to celebrate her 2nd anniversiary in the Navy. Katie is out on a 4 month deployment. She is a DCFN on the USS Essex based out of Sasebo, Japan.

Edwina - Congratulations to Lafe! Such wonderful news. Any idea what sub he will be assigned to yet, or how soon he will hear? We have a gentleman in our church that is a former sub captain.

My son Thomas and I just returned on the 19th from 10 days in Japan. We were able to go on a 3 day Tiger Cruise on her ship. What a wonderful expereince! Katie went to DC school with Donna's Stephen and they still keep in touch via internet.
