This is the final test for your recruits. When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During the 12 hour overnight drill, they encounter every situation that they might face when deployed on a ship. It is a night of adrenaline and focus.
Up to 4 divisions can go at once, but sometimes only 2 or 3 go. Brother divisions go together. 800 and 900 divisions go randomly. They start with the lowest numbered divisions and move up. They can start on the Thursday night, a week before PIR. They skip Fri and Sat nights because of Captains Cup on Saturday (athletic competition between divisions...fun for them!). They can resume BattleStations Sun-Wed nights during PIR week. Something a Chief said about Battlestations:
150-300 SRs go at a time, 3-10 of them will fail and have to repeat it, the most important thing is TEAMWORK. If the SRs keep their mouths shut, listen, and work as a team, they should pass.
The brother divisions in this PIR group are:
63+64, 65+66, 67+68, 69+70, 71+72, 73+74
"I'm a Sailor" phone calls will start to come in the day they finish, usually starting around 2 pm GL time and going into the evening. They may need to complete PIR practice first so be patient. Some may have watch and won't call until the next day.
When you get a BattleStations date from your recruit, post it here and I will add it to the schedule.
*****BattleStations Schedule******(they start late at night and continue through the next morning which is why there are 2 dates posted)
Thurs, Feb 3rd/Fri, Feb 4th Div 63, 64, 65, 66 (moved back a day due to blizzard)
Sun, Feb 6th/Mon, Feb 7th Div 67, 68, 804 (moved back from Thurs due to blizzard)
Mon, Feb 7th/Tues Feb 8th Div 69, 70, 912
Tues, Feb 8th/Wed Feb. 9th Div 71, 72, 73, 74
Also, RTC would appreciate it if we refrain from asking questions via email about Battle Stations. I sent the reply to all PIR 2/11/11 members. :(
I'll keep this page up (as I'm sure most of us are doing anyway) and post if I get a call!
You know, the first week that my husband left I cried every night, after that I was calm through the rest. I started getting nervous yesterday. After reading all these posts about BS, I feel nauseous. I'm almost as nervous as I was on our wedding day, haha.
hearing calls...063 064 has them......804 went with them
LOL I need a drink! LOL hoping someone from 804 gets the call started ! hahahahhahaha
Not sure how 063 mom knew that so we will see soon enough
Usually one division doesn't know all of the others who went through. That is why we need to wait for the calls from the actual sailors in the divisions. Fingers crossed!
Thanks, mom2zwr. Sometimes the advice from the RTC FB site is not correct....I know they mentioned that they would not postpone BStations due to weather....hmmmmm.....
camenae: If our schedule is correct, 65 and 66 should have gone last night with 63 and 64. Time will tell !
