My husband has been gone since December 6th, and I have yet to recieve a 'personal' letter from him yet.  I recieved the 'offical' letter a week ago giving me his address and graduation date (02/11/11), but nothing from him.  I was just wondering if it normally took this long.  I am aware that they are only allowed to write on Sundays, but I was still expecting a letter by now.  I spoke with his recruiter last week on a different subject and he said that I should be recieving a letter from him at the latest this week.  I understand that these things take time, I guess I was just wanting to hear something from him, anything.  He was having a hard time leaving me and our 3 year old son behind and I wanted to make sure that he was in a good state of mind (as good as he is able to be in considering the situation).  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

Hello,

My son left on 12/15 and I still have not gotten his form letter. I think a lot has to do with the holidays, when everyone is down at the base for the holiday and mail service slow right now. Hope you get a letter soon.

Thank you; I hope you get a letter soon also!  I hope you have a Happy Holiday!
Your welcome. Hold your head up and  unfortunately understand none of this is under his or your control. Happy Holiday's to you also.
my son also left Dec 6th and I have yet to get a letter from him.  I think it has to do with the Holidays, unfortunately for us.   I know it must be very difficult for you right now.  I admit I was very dissapointed today when I checked the mail and no letter.  Like you I just want to hear he is doing okay and good state of mind.  Keep sending your letters and I hope you get one very soon!
Thank you!  It helps to know that I am not the only one not recieving letters yet.  Hopefully we will get something today!   It is starting to get really hard on me.  I guess being around Christmas.  I am trying to hold my head high and be strong for our 3 year old son and for my husband's family, but it is becoming a very difficult task to do this past week.  This is the first time we have been apart in 6 years of being together and 4 of those years marriage.  So we are definitely newbees at this!  I really hope to recieve a call tomorrow too, but I feel like that is really shooting for the stars.  Sorry to sound so depressing, I guess it being Christmas Eve and I haven't heard from my husband in 18 days is starting to get to me!  Haha.  Well, I hope that you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and I hope you get a letter today!  Good luck with all!
i know how you feel i feel the same way about my son. then i read others from his div and same ship receiving them really makes me cry so hard, im trying to stay strong to but its really hard ,i miss him so much and this is the first christmas i havent been with him since birth, its really hard for me being christmas eve, i also have a 11 yr and its so hard to be happy and put a smile on my face. i know once i get a letter i will feel alot better God Bless you and your family and merry christmas i pray we both get a letter soon take care
Got a letter from my son today! It was written on the 26th. He said he is doing ok but is ready for Graduation. He said that right now they can only write on Sundays and only receive mail on Sundays. May be able to write more later on. He said he was able to go to Church on Sunday and that they had a nice contemporary service. He has not received any mail from us. We mailed pictures and a letter on the 20th and several more since then but I guess they did't get it to him this past Sunday. Poor guy. He thinks nobody is writing to him! He also sent a letter to his sister and told her a little bit more about how BC is. Lots of work outs, training and yelling! I think he is ok. It was sure good to get word from him.
