In the past, N4M families wore scarves in support of their new Sailors at PIR according to Division. N4M member, Arwen, posted these colors for the 2/11 divisions.

mama, not sure yet, still brainstorming on what to do...any thoughts?
Because of some of the concerns about the all-male or all-female divisions ... and a desire to "stand out" as the N4M group ... Lexsmom and I have suggested that EVERYONE wear bright yellow scarves --- the fleece kind, like people are making blankets out of these days. I am not very "crafty", but Lexsmom says that the material can be purchased for about $6/yard ... which should get 3 long scarves out of it.
The suggestion was then to put a "splash" of your recruit's division color in the scarf ... however you'd like to do it, I think, would be fine. That way, everyone can have a sense of individuality while still being able to recognize other N4M members at PIR. My suggestion was to wear them not just for PIR, but for the WHOLE weekend --- so we can recognize each other whenever we're out --- the mall, restaurants, hotels, etc. Plus then when the recruits get a chance to look in the crowd, they will hopefully see the "sea" of color (or at least a pond ... lol) that someone referenced ... and know that while they were making connections and friends there, we were doing the same on our side ....
Any thoughts, suggestions or criticisms are welcome ---- in the meantime, I think Lexsmom is going to work on a scarf or two to post a picture of over the weekend ....
Hi All....sorry walked away after I posted the discussion! LOL! I LOVE the idea by Lexsmom and tls....I think all N4M should wear one color (Bright yellow is great....if that is the consensus.) Any "extras" or enhancements could be up to each individual, but this way, it might look like the "sea" (or pond...good one) of color we're looking for.
A couple other thoughts:
1) Keep in mind Aprul and another N4M are making ribbons with SR name and division number, so I'll be wearing that as well. (See her RIBBONS discussion above)
2) I'm not very crafty, but if someone wants to spearhead making some of the bright yellow scarves (at about $2 each based on info above), I'd be happy to help with some cost of materials....just need an address via email or inbox.....or distribute at meet & greet and ask for $2 to cover the cost......I'm sure everyone would be okay with that.
