Yes I am - just got on last night.  I am a Grandmother of a ship 4 Div 804 SR.  We raised our grandson - so he is more like a son to me. Where do you get the scarf's and do we do anything special to them?? Thanks for the response.

i have not gotten mine might make it... I think one of the others said that she got one online one at old navy and we are just adding some gold ribbion or something, maybe someone will post pictures, there are some pictures on the PIR 2/11 group discussion you should join that as well, there is info there about everything.
Thanks for the info - I feel like a fish out of water!-)
i know the feeling well, i just sent you a friend request. Have you heard anything form your grandson, letters? calls? feel free to ask lots of questions. i would suggest posting your questions on the PIR 2/11 page as there are a couple of seasoned ladies there who are doing a great job of helping us along, it is a roller coaster.
I have received 2 letters and one phone call.  He says he really is glad he is doing what he has wanted to do forever.  Where are you from?
PRAYING we get phone calls this week. would love to hear my sons voice and find out which of your sons he has made friends with lol. have a great day ladies.

Hi all!  There are a few new people that have joined recently... I may have friended you and asked for your Sr's name.... I know there is a concern for privacy.

I want to apoligise if I asked and you didnt feel comfortable.  Anything said in private on our personal email, stays that way and is NOT put on the main discussion board like this one and the 2/11/11 general one.  We are ALL MINDFUL of our SR's job and the need for keeping their future jobs a bit more secret due to the type of jobs they will be involved in.

I and a few moms ask so we can try and build that community family for us as moms and for our sons.  We know our sons will encounter each other either at BC or while they transition over to Pre-Buds.  So its not that they wont know each other.

I think it is nice for them to know that we to have our own "804" support group started and as they venture down this road, it will get tougher for them, physically and mentally, and the more support you and I will need.  We will not be able to express or worry them about our feelings to much as they will have enough stress trying to make it through each day at Pre Buds and Buds.  It will really nice to know each other and TRUST that we can rely on each other since we all understand the feeling.

Some of us are Moms, Grandparents, Spouses or Siblings BUT we all obviously love our SR enough to be on here and help each other out.

I hope this clears up any questions or concerns and I look forward to our group meeting at PIR!

Thanks,

Brenda

PS-If I missed you on Private Email. let me know and send me friend request.  Thanks  :)

We could make a private group that needs approval before joining and or seeing posts for the 804. What do you think?

Not sure if that is possible but maybe in Pre Buds?  I know once you get your seal class number it is private and you have to be approved to join.

just noticed my typo's- sorry!  I think and type on two different levels LOL

I think for Pre Buds that could be a good idea! and I know the SEAL groups are private and you have to get approved.

I just wanted to stress that no names are ever mentioned on here due to this being public but our PM on the emails are private to who ever you are talking too.

Finally here -

I got my fleece material (yellow/gold) and a tan piece to put down the middle. Looks like a great special ops combo - very subtle, not much contrast! LOL!

We've received a few letters/notes but no phone calls. Nothing in letters has caused concern - he's working to get where he wants to go.
