oh my love the 14 more "sleeps" that is what I used to say to my SR when I would be away and we would talk on the phone and he would ask how many more sleeps mommy? or how many more sleeps until my bday! We are STRONG MOMS!!! I know that we and our sons are going to have some ups and downs, things to celebrate, and times to cry, and when we are just down and need someone to lift us up, we will always be able to help each other out! Amazing, and experience and feeling that is indiscribable!

mamawalrus - Hmmm, my boyfriend is an actual diver with lots of experience and I think he's in shape (LOL) and he's in div 804... Maybe your sons buddy is my boyfriend??? Perhaps?? I'm sure div 804 has lots of good divers though...

Hello

I am new and have found a lot of informational.

We have not gotten any phone calls (calling his GF who is away at college) so little information has come in since Dec.

My SR has been at GL since September. He broke a ankle his 1st week there.

I would like to know more about the M&G and any other information for the PIR

It has been great to read the discussion by other DIV 804 Moms

Hi warriorswife!

Your son is in 804?  How awful his ankle!  Ditto to what ProudUSAMom said.....we have a great PIR group as well as a great 804 group. Feel free to ask any questions... There is a scarf idea we are doing.. it will consist of wearing a yellow scarf to represent US ALL on N4M and then each division is assigned an additional color to wear intertwined or sewn on the yellow....804's add'tl color is gold/tan.  I know there are a few moms who are offerieng extras so you may find them either on here or the main chat group.

Welcome!!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Yes he is Div 804 and it was our first holiday season with one of our children gone. We had hoped for a call on Christmas weekend.  There were a couple of missed calls.

Is it appropriate to make the scarf from yarn (crochet or knit)?

Welcome warriorswife! Ditto what the other ladies have said! please feel free to ask anything. Oh my goodness what a long time to be in GL, that must be so hard for you! Hope that you are doing well.

Thank you all for the warm welcome and the information for the scarf and M&G.

My SR is doing well, been a long period that is about to come to a close.  We are very excited to get to spend time with him.  I did get a glance at ourSR, as he was in one of the photos with the Chicago cubs posted on the GL Facebook page. Hooyah!!

I am going to have to schedule our travel plans to make sure we arrive for the M&G.  I am so looking forward to connecting with other saliors Mom's for the next part of this journey.

welcome Warriorwife, you have just stepped into the best support system there is. these ladies on here are so great. you deserve double hugs wow! all of us thought it has been tough and our sons have only been gone since Dec. well thankfully we are almost there. if you need anything just holler we are all here for you.

Proud USA Mom - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I know it's not your SR, but the sentiment is still from the heart!

Warriorswife - Welcome aboard! Look forward to seeing you at the M&G.

I got a letter today, too. Said that it may possibly be his last  - looking to study and then battle stations.Everything seems to be going well but never much info from him. Could it be the SpecOps mentality?!?!?!??!? LOL
