Hi Everyone,

There is so much information here about services that our SR's should have if they are staying in Great Lakes after PIR. I have read about the Lock and Go, an affordable TAXI service, things to do when they are on Liberty. I thought that we needed a place where everyone can post so that we can pass it on. PLEASE post, I have not been very organized about writing all of it down.

here is the Lock and Go information, I did see somewhere that the owners are very nice, they will work with the SR's on the cost,
If they put something in Lock and Go, can they easily retrieve it when they are shipped out to A School? My DH is only going to be staying a few days past graduation and I'm meeting him in Groton after he gets there, but it'd be nice to be able to have him take his cell phone etc. so that we can communicate to find each other in Groton. But as far as I know they can't keep any of those items on base with them after PIR, right?
BB.Just some info I picked up along the way. I have a girl SR, but it will apply to anything that you may want to do. I asked on the Navy Recruit Training Command fb about getting my daughter a pedicure at the mall. This is considered a NO NO. So be very thoughtful about what you choose to do with your SR in uniform. I am doing a pedi in the room for her. She will love that as well. Hope this is useful. :)
,Bring a lint brush and binoculars for pir! Dont forget your srs lounging cloths for hotel time! I dreamt that I forgot it all, , lol oh and dont forget to print your parking pass. And your scarves!!!!!
Ok...I've seen the reference to binoculars a few times but...why??

THey say it is hard to see extremely good and that believe it or not, your recruit may look alot like everyone else standing there! WHile I think most of us will be able to pick out our recruit, I would rather be safe and look for him with the bino's.

Ah, I see! My camera has an incredible zoom so I think I will use that since I don't own a pair of binoculars. :) Also too that way I've already got the camera focused on him so I can take pics/video as I go instead of switching back and forth!
I agree,,, not sure my camera is good enough and I dont want to develop my pic and see someone other then my son!!!! LOL LOL LOL

SR are given 4 seats for graduation any chance of gettin 3 more?

THey are only allowed 4 per sailor, IF there is room once everyone is seated, they will then seat from the over flow.  Keep in mind there is no guarntee, also keep in mind that PIR 2/11/11 is one of the biggest grad groups from what I have heard.

Oh Raynae,  who do you have in GL?  son, husband, BF?

Anyone have the info posted awhile back on the taxi service for the "Sarge"?
