Angie:  It is 8 pm, I believe, possibly 9 pm.  Your sailor will know.  I have heard that you can pick them up early in the morning...maybe 8?  Sorry, mine was GradNGo so I didnt have that.  Just remembering what others posted.  Some get to the gate early so they can watch their sailor march up.

And YES...civies in the hotel room for sure!   Many ask that boxers are brought too as they are tired of their "tighty whites."  Bring whatever will make them comfortable in the room.  They just can't be outside of the room in anything but a full uniform.

By the way...adding to what I said below about the definition of GradNGo...my son called to tell me he was a GradNGo when at bootcamp...and he flew out on Sat. morning to MS.

Good Morning everyone   a few questions - 1. what time during PIR weekeend do they have to be back on base 2.  what time do we pick them up?  3.  I read they must wear their uniforms outside of the hotel room but can wear civies in the room...so I should dig out some comfy clothes for him?

mysteryfan:  Yes, you will get your time after PIR to visit with your new sailor.  They only allow everyone about 10-15 mintues after PIR in the hall before they will ask that all leave.  At that time, you will say goodbye to your sailor for a few hours until the move to GL base is complete.  So...take pictures quickly!  :-)

SeabeeWife:  Yes, RTC gets us very mixed up.  They say no one flies out on Friday anymore, but we have found that not to be true in these groups.  So RTC calls GradNGos strictly the ones who move over to GL after PIR. HOWEVER, your recruits are still told that they are GradNGo when they fly out Friday or Sat.  So go figure...so we use that term on this group to mean anyone moving to GL after PIR ..OR... anyone flying out Fri or Sat.

We are anxiously awaiting a first phone call.  Our son has never been away from home before and just to hear his voice will be amazing.
