He needs TS and called me to email the info.  He sounded very tired, but his RTC promises that it will get better after 4 weeks.

Cinder what was the call for? Did you talk to him when he first got there?

I'm so jealous Cinder! That's awesome you got a call. Me and my MIL are still anxiously awaiting the box and or form letter. Hope everyone is having a nice day!

Got a call from my son today.  He said that yesterday they got their shots and have been doing lots of laundry. He said the food is really good.

Ok ladies I have a question for all of you. Who's recruits are submarine volunteers, and what are their prospective rates, b/c I'll still be here in subschool when they get finished with boot camp and come to Groton.

Hey ladies, my MIL got Hannah's form letter today, and we found out exactly what we already knew lol, she is in Ship07 Div105, she said that they were getting medically cleared that day, so that means only one things, the beatings are about to begin,  Just so everyone knows, it can be difficult for recruits that weren't prepared mentally for boot camp, I never had any trouble, and once they are finished with week 4 they shouldn't have any problems. If you receive a letter from them during week 4 sayin they hate it don't be surprised, we got daily, and nightly beatings during week 4 it was a test to see who would break.  Its the job of the RDCs to make boot camp a challenge. After they get through week 4 it's smooth sailing from there on (pun intended)lol.  And as for your RDCs being your friend on FB, I'm friends with one of my RDCs who is also a Submarine sailor, he was able to offer me some insight to my first school here in Groton, so they might make friends with you after you're a sailor, but while you're there they're the boss, and you're just a recruit.

thank you Angie...i was also thinking about stayin at the ramada because they have the shuttle its close to the base and their rates are a good price for the amount of stay there....my only thing was wondering how our SR will be able to come back to the hotel with us....do you know how that process works...because i dnt wanna take a shuttle and then have to be back to the shuttle by a certain time and wnt be able to take pics with my SR
Comment by Angie (Dan's Mom) on January 27, 2011 at 5:19pm

sorry LovinMa   when you rent a car you have two options you can use your existing insurance or the rental company can provide you with insurance   If you are using your existing insurance just bring your insurance card - after you verify with your company that a rental is covered.   or if you get the insurance at the rental then they will give you a card

We are renting a car but think we may stay at the Ramada Inn as they have a shuttle bus service and we dont have to get in the long line on that Friday morning to drive onto base

so nobody knows about the car rental situation...does anyone know who i would be able to call to make sure i will be able to get into the base??

LOL   Im chuckling here are work about body snatchers too!!!   My SR always had this thing about zombies....he would go on zombie walks, dress as a zombie for halloween, wrote essays about zombies...it would be hysterical if he was a body snatcher at PIR
