loriellen71 if you have someone or know someone who has children under the age of 12 that will be attending you should check out the navy boot camp website...i just read the handbook type of thing and it stated that children 12 and under do not count as the 4 your SR will put on his/her list....the website was www.bootcamp.navy.mil click on family at the top then scroll down to family guide and you will find it there....hope it helps so that way if your SR did put the kids names down it can clear out a couple spots!!

We were told that you must put the children that are 12 and under on the list as well or they will not be permitted in!

I know that kids 12 and under do not count towards the 4 on the list, The other adults still stay on the list but I have heard some say that they put the 4 adult names on the list and put beside that (plus to small children)

yes Angie its a 8 hr drive for us....so i have another question (i know im always thinking of something but i just like to be sure) im thinking about geting a rental so i wnt have to put all the miles on my car...in the letter it said you must provide insurance etc....when you rent a car do they give you all that info to keep in the car?? i never rented a car before so im clueless yet again...if they dnt give me that info does that mean i cnt get onto base with a rental car?

we are driving except for my mom  who is flying for health reason  10+ hours is a car wont work for her    There are actually 5 of us going   We know we can only have 4 tickets  but hoping that my sister can get in via stand by or that my sr can find someone isnt using all the tickets   My sister wants to go either way  So if anyone isn't using all their tickets   Could you message me?

ok angie good luck i hope your letter is waiting for you its been a week and half so i have good feelings about it....my letter was postmarked the 24th so it took about 3-4 days...as for how im geting to PIR im leaning on driving there because i would have to buy a plan ticket for me and my daughter and it will be more expensive even though its only a 2hr flight....but if i drive i will only have to worry about hotel and recreational activities while i am there....how do you plan on geting to PIR

We got the form letter and he says that he is trying to stay positive but said he hates it two different times. I am sure it is normal but I haven't had a chance to read many posts from today. The couple I did read got I am doing ok messages from their sailor. I am just worried now but know that it was four days ago when he wrote it and he may be better now. Just feel so helpless.
