FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

asmoed is when your sailor is "set back" for some reason....sick, injured, disciplinary, test failure, etc.  They are separated from their division and will be put back with a new division when they can resume training.

HannahsSailor.  We tell people to check the recruiter's address with the form letter address.  Sometimes the recruiter's is not totally accurate...but sometimes it is ok.  It isn't that they move, unless they are asmoed, of course.

LovinMa:  YES!  They can use their phone card or they can have their cell then.  Other than during school time, they can call and text (they usually have to be in their rooms by 10 pm, I believe, so if they don't get service in the room...it can be spotty on the bases....they will need to call from another place before 10).  They can also have laptops then...so it is wonderful.  You can even SKYPE.

i also have a question....what will the communication be like after our SR graduate and go on to A School...will they be able to talk more (ex have cell phones, computers,be able to skype etc) and if they can how often will they be able to do it

omg ashley1202 our daughter sahmirah would do the same thing shes 3 so she knows that her daddy is not at home the first morning she woke askin for him lookin in the bathroom sayin why is daddy not in the shower although our 6month old son has no idea whats goin on he keeps sayin dada mariano is a happy baby so im hoping that he will not act different towards his father wen he see's him at PIR
