Thank you! Also... the so called temporary division is way different too? A compartment is also listed.

So the address that your recruiter gave you for Ship 07 is gonna be his address for the rest of his time there, its not temporary idk why they say that. Right now our recruits are probably still in the Pearl Harbor, temp barracks for fresh recruits, we started getting mail a few days after we moved to our perm ship which was the Ship 14 right across the grinder from 07.  My RDCs let us right on our first Sunday that we were there, they won't be guaranteed writing time until their first Holiday Routine on  Sunday.  We would all write letters after taps during the week and send them our with our mail p.o. I was on ship staff so I would just take my letters straight to the mail room in the afternoon during our work time.  They are guaranteed time to write on Sundays, and then on tuesdays and thursdays during evening routine after i think week 4, so if you don't get a letter for another week and a half its ok.  They will get some time to write eventually, but make sure you're sendin plenty of letters to them while you wait.

Hannahssailor I was wondering why is there a temporary address from recruiter? I have USS Chicago for my husband does that mean ship 7? I watched the slide show and saw that info. Why would his ship change? When do they start getting mail? When do they write? Also I my SR heard a rumor at final meps that they can keep their cell phones???? When would they even be able to use them? Thanks for being so helpful. Means a lot to all of us newbies out there! Hope everyone is having a good evening.

No, when I was in boot camp there were only 4-5 people that were headed for Subschool, out of the 4 of us I'm the only one that's still in training, one got dropped, and the other two are wrench turners so they've graduated A school.

I got my letter today - it was great to see his writing. :-)   But I have a question, has anyone received a potential graduation date of March 11th??

I got to send out my letters to my son today. I know it will be a while before he sees them, but it sure does help to know he will get them and see what's been going on here at home. Hopefully it will help him to not worry about whats going on here. He was my texting buddy most every night. He lived in California and we're in Washington state so even though I didn't get to see him all the time, we would text for hours each night. I sure miss him
