Good Morning Navy Moms I hope our srs have gotten some rest by now. I'm so happy to read that they bundle up well IF they go outside. My son always wears layers and here we are in the west. He is a warm weather kid. I'm thinking that better be where he ends up being stationed. Hawaii just might do it (wink wink).
K-townMom: If you go to www.youtube.com, there are some Navy boot camp videos on there. You will see the video of the processing of the recruits, and if I remember correctly, there is one showing the computer machine that the recruits stand on to measure for their boots/shoes. You will see the rolled up pants legs then (my son didn't have rolled up pants legs because he insisted on wearing shorts up to GL...a yr ago in Nov.ember..S. Florida boy...doesn't "get" this cold weather stuff!).
By the way, ladies, most of them get lots of blisters from wearing the boots all of the time. So even though they are designed for their feet, they still have to be broken in!
No, Lala, I'm sure Donna's son was not allowed to keep his coat. However, I think you are right on the other guess...I bet he is someone who donated that coat knowing someone else less fortunate could use it.
So, Donna, it is obvious that your son has a heart for those in need!
