Lol, lots of us have wondered the same thing. They roll the leg or legs up to be fitted for shoes. They are not told to till them back down so they leave it that way. I thought it was funny.

Hi Donna, you seem to doing pretty good. I can't believe he folded the clothes. Most of them just drop them in the box with the pants leg still rolled up lol. I am not sure about the coat. I do know that they give them the opportunity to donate any items they have to a charity. Maybe he felt someone else could use the coat, or maybe they let him keep it. Something to write about I am sure :)

Thank you all for making me feel normal. I've been handling all this really good, until I received "the box". It was harder than I thought. I was glad that my son addressed it - I found myself just staring at his writing for a while. I went through it and made me smile when I saw that he folded the clothes. The only thing is that his coat was not in the box, I don't know what happened to it. This has been his dream, I hope he's doing well.

Seabee Wife Dawn- yes I make and sell ribbons for families to wear to PIR. They are a great way to show support and pride for your sailor, an awesome way to recognize other Navy for Mom members and they also make a great keepsake for scrapbooks or frames. They have the name on the left and div number on the right. You can see pics of them on my page. And I send a free scrapbook embellishment with every ribbon order. If you are interested just send me a friend request and I will send you all the info. I already have some orders from people in this group.

Angie, I put one of my hubby's t-shirts over his pillow (like a pillowcase), that's what I snuggle-up with at night.  I call it my build-a-hubby (minus the gas) :) & it helps me feel a little better without him in bed.

K-town, thanks for the flag info! I also plan on dressing up for graduation, probably a skirt and sweater, they'll be in dress blues (equivalent to civilian coat & tie), so I want to dress similarly. (but that's just my personal feeling, I think everyone should dress how they are most comfortable)

I can't wait to see Hubs in his dress blues!  I've always liked the looks of a man in uniform ;)

@K-town mom - I went to my other son's PIR in December and people dress all across the board.  I myself was in slacks and a dress shirt.  A lot of people were in jeans...just be comfortable :-)

I heard from my son on Thursday...this one just entered boot on Thursday.  His brother is across the street at att school.

Just had a wonderful dinner with my sr's girlfriend   She fly back here from California today   She goes to college here, Her parents live in Calif and she went home for her brothers Marine bootcamp graduation   How great it was to see her and share with her all that has happened for the both of us in the last 10 days since she left.  I dropped her off at the apartment she shared with my sr   My sr had left her a welcome basket and she was a bit anxious about going into their bedroom and being around all his stuff     We all understand what she is going through right now   Think I might light my blue candle and think of her tonite!

NavyMaMA--yes, no news is good news. I know it is hard since he was in processing and didn't leave when you thought he did. He might be really busy with coming in on a weekend.
