Update on our flag: It is a flag that we fly outside in the flagpole. It cost about $35-45. Not really sure because one day I came home from work and my husband had bought it. I will have to order one of those other ones.

Seabee Wife: We bought a flag at a military type store. They sell all kinds of stuff there--canteens, MRE's, t-shirts, dog tags, etc.

No box today!!!! Boo Fed Ex!!!! (just kidding in case any of you work for them!). Probably Monday.

I love the scrapbook. I will have to go to Michael's on my way home from work Monday. I have been keeping busy today correcting papers, cleaning, shopping, etc. I don't find myself sad or crying but just wondering is he ok? Is he cold? Is he eating ok? Things like that--mom things!

Have a great evening everyone!

My daughter in law or myself haven't gotten the "I'm here" call. He left Friday so I hope one of us hears something soon. Just keep wondering what he's going thru. I watched the boot camp videos on youtube so that helped some. I told him before he left he's going to get yelled at alot but its nothing personal, they'll be doing that to everyone, Anyhow, happy for you all who have received your boxes! Have a good night...stay strong :)

Before I brave the frigid cold to go the grocery store this morning, i was reading some of the earlier PIR groups   Its amazing how the same mothers every year, month, week and day have the same fears, questions etc    It really is a great journey not only for our sr's but for us    I could read the initial worry just after the PIR group was formed and then they received their boxes, the first form letter, then the letters started.   The intense pride of those mothers before us increased when the sr's got flags or wrote that they made sharpshooter etc

Some of the srs were looking forward to the gas chamber  which I found funny  my son before he left kept saying that was something he was looking forward to   I thought he was the only nutcase out there

and then battlestations week!!  wow can't wait for that  the previous PIR groups just jump off the computer with all kinds of emotions before during and after that time  just waiting for the "Hi Mom Im a sailor call"

and of course  all of our dreams - PIR!   so ladies if you are feeling down I would highly suggest going to all groups and picking a group that has been there done that   We have a lot to look forward to!   Now Im going to stop dilly dallying and go to the grocery store!

No box. Hope it comes tomorrow. Does it come in the mail? I'm sure I read something but can't remember.
