I have been wondering about the beeps for months lol, I had almost forgotten about them because I just keep the volume turned off.

Thanks for explaining that! It was driving me crazy trying to figure it out.

Hi, all!

I'm so glad to find this group and have already learned a lot. I got my box today, too, and it was sort of strange, but I'm encouraged that they arrived so quickly. Hope that means the form letter will be here soon, too. I'm trying not to feel anxious about my son-I figure if he can endure boot camp, the least I can do is endure the wait and the separation!

I have a dumb question-I guess someone has to be the first to ask one! I keep hearing little "beeps" while on this website, and I can't find the source. Anyone know what they mean?

Good eveningeveryone/p>

Just got home and the "box" was on the doorstep! We opened it and it had his clothes and books but no address information. I am hoping that he is having "good days" this week. It was only 7 degrees in the Great Lakes today! We heard from the recruiter yesterday by email and he was going to see if he could get us the temp address. Hope everyone is hanging in there.....:>)

no box for me today  but something better  his associates college degree diploma!!!!  and he was honor roll    I made him promise me to continue his education in the Navy and get at least his bachelors degree   He's the kind of person who will continue learning forever   He made me promise to go back to college and get my masters degree in computer science  Next week I promise to contact the student counselor!   Tomorrow perhaps the box will arrive and Beth  I'll take your advise and wash his stuff, pack it up but not before I have one selfish moment

Stay warm and stay strong ladies

My daughter said the same thing to me when she left. She said mom you carried me for 9 months I am sure I can do this for 8 weeks. She handled that 8 weeks a lot better than I did lol.

Diannep, I've made up my mind I won't leave til I get the box and letter! I'm pretty sure I should still be here when it arrives. I wouldn't know how to get a hold of him now anyhow to get it changed.

All you ladies that have already received their box, or going home to one,  remember YOU are proud Navy moms and if your son/daughter can get thru 8 weeks of hard training, then we can open "the box" and get thru it with whatever emotions it takes for us to cope. <ok, stepping off soap box> lol

Beth  jump back on after you open the box and I'll buy you a glass of wine or a coke  your choice!
Comment by SeabeeWifeDawn(ship 02 DIV 918) on January 21, 2011 at 4:31pm

Angie, you can do it!  A few of the Navy guys around here told Hubby "it's only 8 weeks, you can do anything for 8 weeks."  That's how I'm getting through rough patches, I keep reminding myself "it's only 8 weeks"

I'm looking forward to the box because he took my camera with him for his swearing in & I really want it back! lol :)
