Our call came in at 6:00 and we got about 10 minutes. He has had a cold and cough so sounded a little down and homesick, but fantastic to hear his voice. Sounds like the cards and letters are a highlight for them all.

I was jumping up and down at the mailbox last night! Finally got my V'day card and a letter too! Wow - it made all the difference to hear from him. I hope that everyone that hasn't so far gets their letter or call soon :-)

Micky - I am so sorry! Cindy is right God has another plan for your son. That is actually what I'm hanging on to right now too. His recruiter misinformed him about some stuff and told him he did not need a waiver or to take care of certain issues and it turns out that he did need a waiver (we would have taken care of it had we known) and now he probably will not get the position he went in for. And his letters at times sound sad. But I have to believe God wants him to be doing something else in the Navy - no matter what it is cause we would have taken care of the stuff a long time ago had we known. And it breaks my heart that I can't be there right to help him through it. So hang in there - your will make it through and find his way.

Got really bad news................. Chris called home yesterday to say that he wouldn't be able to stay in the Navy. He failed the advanced eye exam due to a lazy eye (that he barely has) but I guess he was fatigued enough and so he is getting a medical discharge................ Sorry I won't be there to meet everyone at the PIR............ I'm so upset and even worse he is devastated!!!!!!!!!!! He has to be processed out and they say could take up to 2 weeks so he was moved to ship 5 and now not doing a damn thing but waiting....................

My brother will also be a Nuke and he is going to South Carolina for A-School.

Melissa, when your brother called.. how did the number appear on the caller ID?? was it an illinois area code or what it a private number calling?
