We will be coming from CT and we will be flying in, prob getting there around 11am also. We are renting a mini van and staying at the Residence Inn in Waukegan which is only 3 miles from base. I also have extended my invite for any sailors who will be alone to be a part of OUR family as well, I agree with Patrick's_Mom, this is such a huge day for them, it would be very saddening to me to know that one of the sailor's has no one to celebrate it with. I would hope that the offer would have been sent to my son if he didn't have us there by his side.............

I can't wait!!!!! 36 days left!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Time will fly!!!!!!!!! And there is already another PIR posted after ours on the site so they are moving forward!!!!!!

We are leaving wed night to go to PIR since we are driving from PA....long long drive! So we will be there by Thursday for sure. The meet and greet sounds fun!! On Saturday depending on if my brother is a grad n go or not we will be spending the day with him but I am sure he would love to hang with other sailors and families!

Kathy, I just asked someone else about the Ramada Inn "MEET N GREET" and I guess the hotel does it every Thursday for the Navy and it is open to anyone, they said that they give you 2 free beers, and 10% off restaurant bill, 6-8pm.......
The Anastasia's Sport's Bar also sounds like a great idea too..... We can plan that one for saturday afternoon/night

it does sound like fun Kathy but did you see the pictures, it look small, not sure how many people we get but there we would have to mingle with the locals as well and if we can find somewhere that is a bit more private and maybe quiet, it might be more fun..... Keep it as an option though, let's wait and find out how this PIR group liked it....

I heard flying into MKE (milwaukee) is better than ORD (chicago) because it is less traffic even though it is about 15 minutes farther away, in the end, it really isn't if your stuck in traffic.............

Is this true?
