We all just celebrated our Sailors Graduating today and most of us have really enjoyed our afternoon with them. I really don't want to give him back to RTC!  My sailor will be learning how to be ET (Electronics Technician), originally he was going to do Aircraft Carriers, but he has volunteered for Submarines he informed us today! I am really excited for him and think and know that he will do well in his A school.  It was so wonderful to just spend time listening to him talk to everyone on his phone!  Blessings to everyone!

I'll ask my son if he knows yours... I was surprised to not hear from him tonight. He skypes with us every night whenever possible and with this being "Brief" week, I am guessing that things got busier today.  Mine also has volunteered for subs! LOL! He had said before he didn't think he could do that, but NOW he wants to do it!  I am making plans to drive his car out to him, not really looking forward to all that driving by myself. Then I will fly home.
I am still working on finding a place to stay... and then to get a ticket and all the "details" sorted out. I asked my son if he knew yours (gave him the name)... and he said yes, he knows him!! I also have a "cousin" who is moving to Georgetown (about an hour north) and I might be able to stay with them, not sure, but will see.
Mine has already got a total of six years committed. Two for school and four in service, I don't know if he has made any additional choices.  He needs to pass his classes before he makes any decisions! If he gets the rate he wants and the location he wants, then additional years makes sense as long as he is happy and content doing his job. Read a story about a young man adding the extra years early on in training, didn't get the job he wanted, wound up doing something he didn't want to do and was stuck.  If my son chooses to stay long term, I am okay with his decision, and I will remind him that he made the choice!
My son in his dress whites... so handsome!  He has sent me photos of himself in each of his uniforms! What a wonderful son!
