No letter today (Weds 2/23/11)... but I did purchase some fabric to make some scarves!  It's really lovely, once I decide what I am doing, I will take a photo and post it.  If any of you are quilters... it's a Michael Miller fabric called Fairy Frost "Snow"... Really lovely, multi shades of whites and some gold dust in it!  Thought that was appropriate since all our SRs starting during the blizzard!
It sounds so pretty!  Are the scarves going to be just for us moms to wear, or spouses too?

I can't wait to see..........I love the description & the comparison the blizzard:)) Good Eye Quiltblue

Well, I was planning on making one each... and might have extra material if we get any others (most of the veteran N4Ms say that if they aren't on here at the beginning, they won't be on here at week 6 or later). So I am guessing it's just us, but if I have time and material, then I could possibly make more.  I think the other family members could just wear plain white scarves or white bandannas, my husband said he might wear a white shirt instead.

here's a list of those in our ship/div... let's make sure we are all friends for private messages!

Are we all friends with each other? Look at my list and check to see that we are! Later (closer to PIR, I want to give my cell phone number to each of you)... do we want to have a separate Meet & Greet? or do we want to do a group with all the PIR N4M members? I don't know how that works... maybe one of our angels will guide us for that as well!  God Bless those who are giving us guidance!  I was such a novice only 3 weeks ago on this site, and now I know so much! LOL!
OK, I just friended everyone listed above and will be waiting to hear back!  :)  For the meet and greet, it would be fun to meet the other PIR N4M members too, but I want to make sure I meet everyone from our ship/div.  Not really sure if we should meet separately or together.
Friday 5:30pm CST.  Just got off the phone with my SR!!!! He too has injured his knee, but is doing better. Did not have to go to hospital ship, tendinitis or stress in his tendons. He said that div 116 has about 60 m/f.  33 are women (but some are from div 115). Not sure of numbers in 115. He will be a flag carrier. They don't know each other by their first names, but he was able to give me three last names of some that he has met. Both of their Petty Officers had athletic injuries today and are gone. He said that they weren't liked by the females or the males, so he is happy they are gone.  I don't know if these are SRs or staff members.  He liked the questionnaires and passed the x-copy to one of the other SRs to fill out and mail home. He said he has probably put on weight, didn't do well on his PFA's (pushups 1st round), but has done better now. Today is Week 2 Day 5. Monday starts Week 3.  Check your schedules and see what that entails!  I am so happy!!! He really sounds great!
Also 115 & 116 are Grad N Go... he doesn't know if they leave on Friday or Saturday. Doesn't know if it is a chartered flight either. He mentioned Family Night on Thursday.  I don't know where that is going to be held at... I haven't heard anything about a Family Night!  ANGELS, do you know about Family Night???
Any moms from Texas or Mississippi please message me your recruits last names.  My son said he has become good friends with two recruites from those states.  They would either be division 115 or 116.  Thanks!

Ship 11 - Div 116

Hello!    I havent been on a several days.. we have been busy.  We received a long letter last week from our daughter :)  and 02/24 we got another long letter!!  And yesterday 02/25 we got a phone call !!!  OM gosh it was soooo good to hear from her!!!!  She had been writing that she had bad blisters from teh boots and we hoped she wouldnt get washed back for that.  But she says there pretty much healed, and she took and passed her PT that day.  OMG did I say it was sooo good to hear from her!!!!  lol   Our daughter is going AO.  is 116 grad and go????  We were hoping to stay Saturday and Sunday hoping to spend a couple days with her.  It will be a big let down if we cant have at least one good day :(

We dont know yet which motel we will stay... leaning toward the Residence Inn.  probably more costly... but i have read some really terrible reviews on some of the motels that are closer to the base O.O  and I am not sure what time we will be flying in on Thursday.  Both my husband and myself work unusual hours, and have to shift things around to make the trip. so Im not sure what time we will get into the motel... it could be a late arrival.

Is any white scarf ok?  We can certainly do that!!

OH... I know its too late for us... but for future navy moms... you may want to get a durable power of attorney before your daughter/son leaves for BC!!!

My daughter got a letter from our bank saying they were replacing her visa card, and would be canceling the one she has on her right now - the one she was supposed to use to order her photos!!!  The said it was because of a defective strip on the back of the card - but that was a lie - I called the bank, since I am also on the account, and they told me there was a security breach and they were replacing everyones card that used them at a certain vendor.  I asked them to leave the card open for 30 more days, since there is only enough funds there for her photos, but they told me I dont have authority to authorize that, even tho I am on the bank account, because I am not on her visa (debit) card and I dont have power of attorney.  Who would have thought I would need one???

Our son leaves for BC 07/12/2011 and will be AECF.  We will absolutely get a POA before he leaves.  Live and learn.

Quiltblue~Ship 11 div 120 would like purple scarfs if not taken.
posted a message for you on your group! I like purple! We have chosen white!
