At this point we do not want to get a phone call !!. I was in this position once before, and a phone call was to say I am being held back. Nope, no phone call for me !

We should hear from them on the 25MAR11, That should be the day they complete BS. Should be.....
some award winners are making phone calls.... that is the only kind of call I want! Until I get that "Hi Mom, I'm a Sailor", call.
I just got home from work. Found the mailman delivered 2 letters !!

So the first one said that he gets to call home next Tuesday. Not sure how long he will be allowed to call. I think it is because he got a sharpshooter ribbon for the "Baretta M9 pistol" (whatever that is).

Also, he said that he really likes his new division. "Everybody's a lot more friendly and they appreciate everybody here."

So glad to hear that !! Says a lot for the parents !!
I'll send you a private message with my son's name and you can mention him to yours... maybe they will become friends! Congrats!

Just got another letter tonight.  Our daughter says " There is no parents night anymore".  What ever that means? I never could get a straight answer on this from her.  Her prior letters all stated that we would get time with her the night prior to graduation.  I wonder where she was getting that idea?????  It concerns me, because I wonder how many other parents changed their flight, motel reservations, and work schedules to be there a day earlier for the parents night?  :-(   she also says BS is on 03/25 :-)  YAY  I reallllly am looking forward to a phone call !!!!

BS is on the 24th overnite into the 25th. We should get a phone call the evening of the 25th with "I am a sailor". On the 26th (Sat) they have the Captain's cup.. And, there is no Visit with our sailors the night before. There have been a few RDC's who have been saying there is. From my understanding, they have been corrected. It no longer exists, if it at all did.
Hi everyone, I just wanted to stop by and wish everyone a safe and happy journey to PIR. I know you will have a wonderful time with your sailor. God Speed :)
So, quiltblue, did our group decide then to do dinner after the meet and greet?  I was just wondering if I should feed my boys before the meet and greet or not.

Thank you Lala.......We're almost there:)))  I can't wait to see the doors open up as our Sailors march in:))))))

I'm sure we will have a few stories to tell:)))))

I think some of us are going to eat at the IHOP before Meet & Greet (the one close to Ramada Inn), we (my husband & I) are planning on getting there around 4PM. That way we can talk, and get to know anyone else that shows up, beforehand. Some of us don't want to stay out too late after driving all day or stay too long at the Ramada.  If we have a really large group, they might move us to another room (not stay in the bar) and so it might make it more comfortable to stay longer.

If anyone has a different idea, let me know. ;o)

I hope my family can make it.  We will try to be there around 4 if we can.  We will be driving from the western part of the state that day, about 4 or 5 hours away.  Hope to see you and the rest of 116 there!

The IHOP is really very close.  Plus we know what the food is going to be like.  Soccermom sent me these directions.
