Your sailors will PIR in their dress blues.  The change to dress whites up in GL will occur the first week of May according to RTC.

Hi Maisy321..we feel your heart for sure..until you get that commuincation it is so hard..you miss your child sooooo much! I still do even though I got the form letter and saw a few lines of her handwriting..I can't believe it's been so long since we talked..we went from everyday commuincation with our child..to no communication. that's hard for sure..Hang in there I pray you get something or at least his address..once you get it..you will better so you can start sending him letters ok?? I'm not sure I belong here yet, but I'm assuming. I am STILL waiting for the form letter with his address. He got there on 2/15 (missed his call) and I got the box on 2/21. I called his recruiter on Sat for the address and he said the computer wouldn't let him in to check? He was going to try again today. A lot of moms with kids who left same week have been writing and I hope he doesn't think we forgot about him. :-(

I was emotional this weekend, have been losing sleep and that makes me moody. Poor hubby - I was telling him, "what if he stood up and left at the "moment of truth" and tried to come and didn't make it? How would I know? I know, its unreasonable, but I hate that I know NOTHING after nearly 2 weeks gone. I pray he is okay.

Cherly- Navy Lodge is I think the closest to the base and it is not a bad place to stay at all. $65 a night with no tax. You have to reserve the room in your recruits name. There are nicer but also more expensive hotel close by as well. The best airfares I have see have been from South West and I think you may get a better deal if you fly into Milwaukee. It is usually cheaper to rent a car than it is to pay for a taxi or cab. Those are often 50-75 dollars from the airport to hotels near the base. Milwaukee is a little further in miles but takes about the same amount of time to get to Great Lakes as coming from Ohare because of traffic. Your form letter has the PIR/graduation date on it but yes, there are others in this group with that same division number so you are in the right place. Welcome, if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

I made my reservations at the Navy lodge so now just the plane reservations. It is cheaper to fly into Milwaukee then to fly into Chicago. Then just rent a car, and drive a hour to the base.
