gaylemm: I would suggest that you scan the photos you send on computer paper...collage-style...front and back. They can store the paper better....very limited storage space there...and it is mailed like a letter.
As far as the RDCs, they are all different as far as attention to mail. You just never know! Some may not mind colored envelopes, etc at all....others may single out the SR to open it. I think you are wise to try one and see what happens...hopefully all will be well!
WOO HOOO...I got my letter,,,,I belong to the 4/15 PIR ....yes! lol Im a happy camper..my dau writes : " bootcamp is pretty crazy but so far its good! havent officially started training yet but I have amazing RDC's & a good division...I will write more later...(and in capital letters) WRITE ALOT PLEASE! " ...i can only imagine what she is thinking now..so far today since she has been gone i have writen a total of 12 letters already not including the fams and friends....lol
she may say in her next letter ...tone it down mom...ha ha ... ;)

Just so you know, I sent colored envelopes (very, very colorful enevelopes) and nothing was ever said to Aaron. I would say it's safe to send the envelopes that comes with the cards. That's just my opinion-- You can be as cautious as you'd like. :)
However, a 6x9in. envelope will most likely be searched my RDC's.
It's a great idea, but it may raise suspicion as to what is in the envelope and still give your recruit the extra attention you were originally trying to avoid.
