Most families get to spend Friday, Saturday and Sunday with their sailor. So I wouldn't leave until Sunday afternoon or evening if you can. There is a chance he could be grad and go but I would still plan on the whole weekend just in case.

Thanks for all the info on this site.  I really love the countdown and weather.   I started checking things out on N4M before my son left, but I was driving him crazy with advice.  So, I stopped cold turkey and came back on 2/15, the day after he left.  I e-mailed his recruiter to ask for his address, but with the holiday I haven't heard anything yet .... maybe tomorrow.  Question:  when we make reservations, should we just plan on coming home on Saturday?  Are they all out of there by then?

Wow another PIR group has formed already. Time is a crazy thing. Sometimes, like when you child is at bootcamp, it seems to drag so slowly, that days seem like weeks and minutes seem like hours. Other times, like when you sailor is home on leave, it goes by so fast that you feel like you are spinning out of control.

I would like to welcome everyone to N4M's. I am a veteran mom, Diannep and Jessica, as well as some other. I am here to help answer questions and just be here to listen if you need it. My daughter had PIR in July, she is now finished with A & C-school and is at her first Duty station in VA. Her husband is also in the Navy and just finished A-school and moved to VA to be with here. It has been quite an adventure so far and continues to be so each day. You are welcome to check out my page there is a lot of helpful info there. If you have any questions at all feel free to ask. That is what we are here for.

Good evening ladies   my son right now is in his 5th week at BC and I just wanted to see how you were doing   It was a pretty rough start for me but it is getting better  My son's PIR is 3/18   The very best advise I can give you is to come here and make friends   You need to be able to talk with other navy moms   Your support group will keep you strong and try to remember that it does get better!

Jamie, I understand, it was hard for me every Tuesday we watch NCIS and NCIS LA together every week, so I watch it in her room sitting on her bed. It will all end soon. That what keeps me going I just scanned all her baby pic into the computer to keep me busy and keep me close. Thanks Ladies for listening.
