The last I got from my sailor was that we could bring the laptop and cell to the airport to him (he got this OK from his RDC) and he also requested a change of civilian clothes.

Called the recruiter and understand a bunch more of what is going on... Just need to find out if he is truly a Grad & Go.... He is supposed to go to Pensacola for "A" School....

I'm confused, too. The black bag that I'm referring to is one that we have been told on here and on RTC FB that we can bring to them at the airport with a few items (ex: cell and laptop). My new Sailor told me today that he was told they can't by his chief. I know his chief and RDCs seem to be a little bit harder on them.....also told him he probably shouldn't go in the jacuzzi/pool on liberty even if they are in their navy issued swimwear! Not sure what's going on!!

Mary, I am confused.  What color is their Navy bag? My son's computer bag is black, but I don't know if it would fit in his Navy bag.

Question ladies.... I was asking my SAILOR :) :) if he wanted me to bring a black backpack to the airport, and he said that his chief told them they absolutely cannot carry a black back pack when they are in their dress blues, even at the airport. Is this incorrect??

Congrats to the new sailors of PIR 4/15!  Bravo Zulu and a big HOOYAH!
Comment by diannep on April 12, 2011 at 4:58pm

DJsMom:  They don't need a black backpack if they aren't flying out and taking some personal things with them.  If is their choice.

Jaime:  Maybe if you color in the backpack logo with a black magic marker?  Have you already bought it?  If not, I would keep looking for an all black one.
