My husband and parents made it to GL this afternoon around noon. We are staying at Quality Inn - We got the call from our son yesterday afternoon around 4pm it was great to talk to him - he sounded really tired - Brent said that they had already been up over 24 hours.

As I write this Brian and Niki just left for their trip to Chicago. It was hard to see them go without me but at the same time I am excited for them.
I hope you all have an amazing time at PIR and enjoy any the time your are able to share with your Sailor. I hope when you all return from your trip that you post about your experience; I for one would love to hear your stories. I would like it if we all could post some of our personal pictures of our new Sailors in their uniforms. It would be so special for all of us to see them.
God Bless you all and your families. I pray for your safe travel.

We are leaving for Great Lakes today around 1pm, we are also staying at the Navy Lodge.
I couldn't get out of work fast enough last night so that I could move forward with my weekend and see my daughter.
I recieved my last letter yesterday. Katie was telling me that she has been sick.
She told me about her experience with the gas chamber.
Here's what she said ....
So I never told you about the gas chamber. We were all lined up in rows and each row had to take off their masks, hold them up and say their names and divisions. Well I was in the 2nd to last row and got to see everyone else's reactions. Funny stuff. I was laughing .....until it was my turn! I lifted my mask and took a few breaths...thought "This isn't so bad" then darn I can't open my eyes!" lol But it really didn't affect me until after I left the gas chamber. After that, my eyes and nose started running. There were people drooling! Gross!

It was so nice to get another letter when I really didn't expect one this week. It helped to put a bigger smile on my face for the day.
I am looking forward to meeting everyone, hopefully we can make it to the meet and greet!

Heading to Great Lakes shortly, we drove from Kansas yesterday to Des Moines. We have another 6-7 hours ahead of us. We are staying at the Navy Lodge and will attend the Meet & Greet tonight at the Ramada. Definitely cannot wait to see my Sailor Son tomorrow morning.

Ok so am I so ready to see my daughter! I drove by the base today like I might see her..hahah And to see if I remembered the area I used to be in..I guess it has either changed alot in 20+ years or I am old...haha
Love to talk to her today...they got there pizza day...
My daughter is tiny but managed to stuff down pizza, bread sticks, wings, snickers, peanut butter cup, red vines, pepsi and a monster...I asked her if she was trying to make herself sick...I was shocked by the amount she stuffed in...

Sitting in the Ramada trying to make time speed up...Friday cannot get her fast enough...
