My son said his ship out day to Pensacola is the 27th of April. I am wondering what A School will be like? He said they are just as strict there as they are in BC . Not as strict but they are strict. But my son is asking for a 2 week leave to attend to personal matters back home! I think he should wait till after A school? I know in A school he gets to call home and has more time to write and rest. He calls BC prison.... LOL He said it is more rules than he has ever heard of! LOL He is one that is staying to a small group because there are some that are causing chaos for the whole squad! I just keep writing him and tell him to remember the Navy is more about team work than individual work.
That is what makes the navy so awesome and us so proud to be Navy Mom's! When our children chose to serve our country, and the Navy chose them and our children accepted that put them in a league of their own! I am proud of my son and I know everyone here is as well! (recruiter told me) Allways remember only 2% WHO APPLY TO THE NAVY ACTUALLY MAKE IT! I say we are awesome proud Parents!
Cathy glad you got mail, sounds like all of them are ready to be out of BC. It is unfortunate that there are some that are making it difficult for all. My mail day is tomorrow and I can't wait. As far as meeting in Great Lakes there is a meet and greet at the Ramada on Thursday night before Graduation...but I would love to meet the boys too. Where is everyone staying and when are you getting to Great Lakes...we are flying in to Milwaukee on thursday morning and staying at the Americas Best Value Inn. Can't wait for it to get here!!!
No I get mail tomorrow aswell! LOL I have alot on my mind I mail him daily even sundays I go to the airport post office and they are open everyday of the year, I am just really stressed out and can't wait til he is out of GL! Then it will be easier to communicate with him more. (not sure how much more?) Tomorrow I will report if I get a letter! LOL
I am staying 1.5 miles from base but not sure that is the hotel I want to be at, But it is the closest to base I was told. We will all have to meet Thursday evening to talk , I don't think none of us will be able to sleep that night.... WE WILL BE SO EXCITED!

What is battlestations?
I hope I make the 23rd date, my son might grad late due to his chronic feet problems, I can only pray! I will be staying at the Ramada so I will be there if he graduates on time PLEASE Pray he makes it.... I don't think I could take him there any longer I am just beside myself till I know he makes it or not...........
lots and lots of prayers that his feet are healing and he gets to graduate w/ everyone else!!!!
Anyone keeping up with the news? I am stressing over a lot of issues...... I am praying and praying hard for all of our service members across the world, Please keep informed on world events......
No phone call tonight!
Got a letter today from Josh and he sounds good just very ready to be done..says he feels like he's been there forever...he mentioned that they are going to be doing firefighting and getting gassed this week..great now something else to worry about!! Some news i could wait to hear after this is done with..how did you find out about the meet and greet on Thur??? We will be staying at the Candlewood Suits in Waukegan..it's 3 miles from the base...when it gets a little closer I would be glad to give you my cell to call and set up time for us all to meet...off to a track meet for my youngest tomorrow, pray for nice weather..her brother loves to hear how she does so will have something fun to write tomorrow night...have a good day everyone...
I hope she does well, I knew about the gas and the firefighting, I was not thrilled knowing before he joined.... What is Battlestations? I never heard that term till I saw a old forum here... I am trying to learn as much as I can!
I am so glad you heard from your son Cheryl! It makes it easier to get thru this week! We are getting close and I can't wait to see our sons, they worked hard for this! I am staying at the Marriott and I arrive early Thursday I will definetly give you my cell as well. I did not even see candlewood suites in that area, there is alot of hotels there. But I have 2 reservations I have to cancel one soon. I am not sure Ramada inn or Comfort Inn? Either way that is not really my priority, seeing my son is! I Have a Great day with your daughter and I hope the weather is awesome for her!
It is Battlestations 21..Basically it is a 24 hour test given to each Div. They must work together to survive several simulated disasters that could potentially happen on board, I guess the ship and the effects are designed by hollywood movie set designer and the simulation is very real. It puts everything they have learned at bootcamp to use. They have to pass in order to become a Sailor. For Div 168 my husband said it is 4 days before graduation so I think it starts the 19th and will be finished on the 20th so we can expect a call around then if they complete it. Search youtube for cnn Navy Battlestations. They did a broadcast about it...
Hope this helps :) I know our guys are doing good, I bet they will do great as long as they stick together as a team!
WOW I had no idea they had to do this..... I won't be able to sleep that night! I will be worrying... LOL I can't help it I try and I only sleep a few hours a night . Thank you for your response. I hope we get to meet at graduation, nice to know the great wifes/moms of our great guys!
