I am really really hoping that the 3rd Sunday is THIS Sunday...LOL
But like everyone else has said, "no news is good news"
patiently waiting......
Just made reservations - staying at the Navy lodge (just like ronniesmom) They were so nice - I had a lot of questions!! LOL
2 queen beds, and a kitchenette!! The closest to base and only 65.00 night. I think I will just drive to the Ramada for the meet and greet - I don't know if the hubby will go with or not. (to the meet and greet) maybe those of us staying at the Lodge can car pool or all go together?!
Any other thoughts about the "wear yellow" idea? I just thought if we all had a yellow (or any other BRIGHT color - please speak up) scarf or something - our SR would be able to find us and see how many are supporting their division!!
Scarf yes Yellow and I don't look good but anything for my boy. As for Dress I am afraid it might be too cold?
What's the deal with the wisdom teeth? Do they pull them on everyone? Can someone please post when they get a call............I am going nuts waiting.
ronniesmom -
re: wisdom teeth -YES most do have them removed - they say it isn't so bad as they get a couple of days off to "recuperate" (sleep) I read somewhere that it is because they don't want them having problems while at sea. (??) I have heard of a few that didn't have to have them pulled - maybe it was due to they were already in and not causing any problems or some other special reason. I read about it a few months before he left but waited to tell him till about 2 wks before he left ( he started complaining about his top ones coming in and it was hard for him to chew) - he asked about seeing his dentist before going in and I also read someone was delayed at meps because he had them removed and didn't get a waiver. I then told my SR about what I had read - he almost freaked out!!! So, I am anxious to hear if he has had them removed yet or not!!
Just found where I read it - it was on the Depper's group - here is a link
http://www.navyformoms.com/group/deppersinbutnotyet?commentId=19717...
Also you can read more if you type in wisdom teeth in the search from the group page.
Hope this answers your questions?!
ronniesmom - you and me both!! I carry my cell phone everywhere I go - when I am work I almost freaked out when I went to the bathroom - I realized I didn't have it and man did I hurry!! LOL I got back to my office and had to check to make sure I didn't miss a call! I would have been so upset if I had!! I almost feel like I should "duck tape" it to myself! LOL
Oneluvdmom-
Have you gotten a letter yet - did he say how things were going? I only have got the one - but anxiously waiting to hear something!!!! I just hope they are all getting along and not getting in trouble as I hear if one messes up they may all lose privileges this includes phone calls. I just keep praying they are working together!!! (and that if someone does mess up it won't be my SR) LOL
I am with you on that..I too pray that my little angel;) won't be the cause if any that they loose any privileges. I pray every day for them to have harmony in whatever they are doing. That they are patient with each other and hang in there all together.
All I got in the letter was "aside from the nice older gentleman who wakes us yelling and the push-ups I really like it" His bunk mate is from Georgia and he is real cool? No names so I don't know anymore than that.Mail did come on Wed as anticipated from another mom friend who went through this last year.I will assume more mail Wed? It's the call I am climbing the walls for now.The letter gave me some ease.
Kinda feels like the last couple weeks of your pregnancy huh?The longest wait of your life you thought.........now this omg
ronniesmom -
you hit that right on the head!! made me laugh out loud!! I hurried home to see if there was any mail but again - only bills!! LOL. I too am wanting that phone call! I can hardly stand it! Just think - almost half way through this - then its off to A school - but at least they can have their phones! (even if it is only at nights and weekends!!) I guess I will just keep praying that all is ok!!
When did your son get to GL? Mine got there on March 2nd. I figure most in this division got there the first of the month. which means they get extra time! But also means they will get to go to battle stations early in the week! I cant wait to hear when they will be doing that!! I figure there will be extra praying for me that day/week!
He got there the 2nd too.Yep only bills in my mailbox too:( What exactly is Battle stations? I have seen it in the book but am confused between that and the other testing forgot what they call it?
I hope he has the whole weekend off I am hearing some don't get the weekend off?We are scheduling to come home Monday so we can have the whole day Sunday with him?
Oh this waiting it's 5:00 somewhere I am having a glass of wine tonight.
Just got my phone call!! Woo Hoo - I am on cloud Nine!!
Anyone else get a call? My son said they found out today that the whole division is grad and go - only get Friday after Graduation then they take them to the airport for either FL or CA - he said everyone in this division is either Intelligence or Nukes.
Funny - I got 2 letters today and then the call this evening!! I am dying to hear what everyone else has heard?!?!
Same here got 2 letters and the call grad and go too going to Fl.No wisdom teeth pulled he said most go! he said he may not get a call until April 22nd .He got to keep his wisdom teeth he said most didn't.it also appears letters are written different days 1dated 17th the other the 19th?
He is sick but said ok. Congested and headache. I made him get a flu shot before he left.
O.K feel better now. I just wonder if the Grad and Go thing may change?
