Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Ship 02 Division 920

Hi I am new here and was hoping to interact with others. My son left 2/7/11. I still have not spoke to him. I am praying he is ok and adjusting to bootcamp.

Just got a phone call from my SR....He said hell week wasnt quite as bad as they were told. ONLY 18 days left :)

I got a phone call from my daughter, too!!!  I was so excited to hear from her.  She also said "hell week" wasn't near as bad as she thought it was going to be.  Made it through with flying colors!!!  We are on the downhill slide now!!!!!

I got a call from my son today too! He also said hell week wasnt that bad. It sounds like our group is doing very well. They have earned a total of five flags, and everyone appears to be passing their tests. Which is awesome!

Received a call from my daughter yesterday.  She earned the call and got to talk to her about 20 minutes and then she was going to call her dad.  Said her final PT test will be 3/30 and battlestations for her division will be April 4th and 5th.  She said the division has earned several flags (not really sure what that means) and she has earned 3 ribbons and she was at the NEX picking them up.

How exciting!!  Good for her!!  Congrats to her for the ribbons!!  I talked to my daughter yesterday as well for about 30 minutes!  She said the same thing about the PT test and battlestations.  We are getting close now!!

That is really awesome texasmom! Its hard for us mom's who have boys in bootcamp and for your daughter to being doing so well that is such great news for you! She sure is showing the boys that girls do rule, lol...

 

And yes, I think our division is doing very well as a unit. Thats going to be great for BS. :)

I guess that leaves 124-128 doing BS21 on the 6th & 7th?  .....right before graduation? LOL....bummer, to have to wait til the end!   That is awesome that your daughter is doing so incredibly well Texasmom! Oh you must be so proud! Congratulations to you AND your daughter!

Hi Ladies.  Thought I would check in.

I finally received my FIRST phone call from my SR who happens to be our RCPO for the group.  He said the group was doing really well and is staying strong.  Says their cheif is tough but fair and they all like him.  He talked as though everything was making sense and he and the group have adjusted to military life well.  Told me battle stations are on the Tuesday before PIR. He earned a medal for shooting.  Very proud of him.  Didn't know he shot that well.  Maybe scout camp paid off. lol. He says he now likes being organized.  Failed one inspection early on and said that was it.  Been trying to excel ever since.  The whole division is stepping up and maturing.  His words.  We should all be very proud.  They are doing great!

Side note, finally booked the Ramada for hubby.  I can't come, just don't have the funds.  So he will see you gals Thursday evening at the meet and greet. 

Keep looking for photos on the web site!!  Good pic of the drummers.  If your son/daughter plays the drums, you can see them.  Mine is the drum major.  Still trying to march correctly.  Just not his strong point.  8th notes are the biggest struggle for him.  Hope he doesn't get in more trouble because of this.  He really is trying. Not in the photos yet.  

My son told me everyone is getting along and friends with each other.  Yippee! His last letter named most of them by name as being buddies.  Happy.

Hang in there ladies.  Almost there!
