I am right here with you. My son is in the same ship and div. I am so glad I was able to get his address late yesterday afternoon. Sending first batch of letters this morning. Now for the form letter and graduation date. I think that is what is stressing me out so much is the unknown date. I see some recruites that arrived the day before our children have graduation on April 1st. April 1st doesnt work for me, but I will be there what ever date it is.

I understand five.

I am anxiously awaiting that news also so that I can get to making plans. I think once I can start making the plans to see him, I will be feeling a bit better. I joined both groups.... PIR 4/1 and PIR 4/8. I am sure that it will have to be one of those! 4/1 will definitely be much harder for me to attend, but like you, I will do whatever it takes!

My son is in the same ship.  Got the box yesterday and called the recruiter for the address.  Either dates work for me but, based upon the things I am reading online, I would suspect they will PIR on the 8th - could be wrong, though!  Still waiting on the Pony Express........

Did you son arrive late Tuesday the 8th? I would guess the date would be the 8th but some ppl whose children arrived on the 7th are graduating on the 1st so you never know. I am a full time nursing student and my school spring break is the week of the 8th that’s why my fingers are crossed for that date. I will miss clinicals to go to my son’s graduation though.

Well welcome to the group.

No letter today yet!!
I didnt get mine either :(
So the waiting continues..... I dislike this part very much!!

We did not get a form letter yet.  I am hoping for PIR on 4/8 as well.  Would love to see him sooner but, prefer 4/8.  I booked my airline reservation through Southwest Airlines so I can be more flexible with changing my date.  Waiting on booking the room reservation.

What are your son's ratings?  My son is going to A school for Hospital Corpsman.

Nursemom-

My son is going to A school for hosptial Corpsman also.

I was thinking about booking airline tickets on southwest today airfares have gone down some. I like flying southwest for the reason of no change fee.

I missed thwt question. Mine is also. Hospital Corpsman. I see a trend. I wonder if they all are in this division?? My son's A school is scheduled to be in San Antonio last I heard. Is everyone's the same? I will wait to book tickets until i get the letter. I am considering going on Amtrak as an option to have a different experience. I have never traveled by train. Just thinking about it....

There seems to be a trend :)

Last my son was told by his recruiter, was they were still unsure of the start date down in San Antonio.

I have only taken the Amtrak short distances (appr 2 1/2 hrs) could be interesting depending on how many days your train ride would be.

It would basically be overnight. I was thinking of flying into New Orleans and taking it from there. I could start in Houston, but I would have to travel and extra day. THe train from Houston gets to New Orleans one hour after the one leaves NO to Chicago. Go figure!

So it leaves NO at about 1 or 2 in the afternoon and then gets to Chicago by 9am the next day.
