Good Morning, I am starting this discussion for Div 124.  My son left on 2/8/2011, I am sure he will be in this PIR. Or I am almost sure.  I would like to chat with other mothers that have sons/daughters in this division. I look forward to your comments.

I am excited to meet more people that are near my son.  I wonder how close that is?

Good Morning all,

Has anyone made air travel arrangements yet for our class 4/8/11? It is so expensive to fly round trip for our whole family. Does anyone know how the travel would be to GL in April?

Hi Texasmom.  i just got the information from the form letter that was sent to my son's father.  I'm looking forward to the PIR in April.  I'm looking at flight rates and needing to book a room.  Will you have some time to spend with your son before he goes to A-School?
I am not sure. When do we find that out? Will you be able to spend time with you son before A School?   I know that he will be going to San Antonio which for me will be a blessing because, that will be closer to visit than Chicago.

Hi! My son also arrived in GL on 2/8/11. I am still trying to learn my way around this site. It was great to receive my form letter with my son's short note and "I LOVE YOU!" last week. We are trying to work it out to attend the graduation. Anyone finding great deals for airfare???

:)

It appears that our sons are in the same div. That is great.  Welcome, I have just started looking at airfare and it appears to expensive for us.  We might fly one way and drive back.  It is 936 miles so we are still trying to deside what to do.  I looked on line yesterday at rooms and it seems that the Navy Lodge is the best price $65.00.  I wanted to put a photo of me and my son but, was warned not to do that.  Is that a picture of you and your son? It is a good picture.

Yes, that is my son and me in the picture. Why were you warned to not have a pic of you and your son? Maybe I need to change mine.

Good afternoon ladies!  I just booked everything for my son's PIR.  Also spoke with the mgr at Ramada for the M&G.  I am looking forward to it.  I have been reading everything I can to find out the best way to go, place to stay, etc.  I haven't written much.  Now that is checked off my list......In the meantime, I will try to write on this site.

My son is 21 and left his gf here.  We spend time together when we can so she doesn't get too lonely.  His father got the form letter but I haven't seen it.  I sure wish I knew how he is doing.

I got my first letter from my SR yesterday!!  He said he is doing well and will try to call me tomorrow.  Funny thing letter. :)

Everything is booked...flight, hotel, rental car! I am sooooooo excited to be able to go to my son's PIR! He's excited that we are able to come, too! I have several friends who have sons in the Navy. They've told me to bring kleenex and my camera! I will have both!

Where is everyone?  This board is so quiet! Are you simply everywhere else?  I just wanted to pop in and congratulate your SRs on battlestations!
