If you want, please post what your SR said on their form letters home. Sometimes they are quite comical

My Sr said that he was doing good and that Tues was the longest day of his life (day2 -they were made to stay up). He said by the end of the day if felt like 4 days!  Also that he couldn't find his address book.

My SR said ... everything is fine.  if you want you can change the snowtires on my car back to the other ones.  My husband and I laughed.  can't worry if he is more worried about his car that he can't drive for a while.  We also got 8 inches of snow the other day.  Think I will wait a few more weeks to do that.

my daugther said "can't wait to see you in a few weeks !! I love you and miss you ! Hope life is not too boring without me around  !!"

I do miss her a lot, I  know she is going to be ok, she was waiting for March 15th for 14 months !!

ship 12 / Div 166

Fun to see what SR are writing.. Were still waiting for my brother to finally write someone back! His Ship 163 Hope he gets back to someone soon!
My son told me in the form letter that "he was nervous at first but now he's excited to get up everyday and know he going to be doing something he wants to do and also said "its not that bad, you're more intimidating".  I just had to laugh.

The form letter was address to his dad. And the names on the guest list were only first names too. I think it must be the way they wanted them to do it. Keeping short and probably under a time limit. My sons handwriting is horrible. He should become a doctor is so bad. There are thing written on the paper then partially erased. The comments at the end said,  "WOW " what a culture shock. Its been 3 days and I miss you guys so much already. Finally got to sleep last night. I am looking forward to getting to our real barracks and real training. This p day training is tiring and mundane.I love you guys.

This made me cry. Especially the part of missing us 3 days into it. ....sniff.. sniff.

Can't wait to receive a letter from him or a phone call.

Brenda~

I really identified with your note.  My son has terrible writing too!  LOL  Well, this will be a different experience for him.  My son has always been TERRIBLE at making his bed too.  but now, I have a sneaky suspicion that he is pretty good at it.  I'm told that they were told to only address the letter to 1 person.  I don't know why they used only 1st names.  My son did full names.  Maybe they didn't give them much time.  Culture shock can make you forget things temporarily.    I sure hope your son and mine are doing alright.  I really feel for them.  It's not easy and they really keep them running.

Wish he'd call already!
