Oh Casey! I'm so happy for you! Wow - 2 letters! Bet you were surprised. She sounds real sweet. She must be going through withdrawals without their phones, mp three player. What does an OS do? Chris will be making the diesel engines run and making drinking water from sea water, and air conditioning and heating. Sounds like a lot of manual labor, but it's a job and there are so many without right now!
Good Night!
Hi Casey,
Is your profile pic one of her? she is cute! Did she get her hair cut short before going in?
That's TERRIBLE about the letters coming back! Wow, At least you are getting them back out and she'll have them all in no time (since they are receiving mail 3X's a week now! So don't worry.
My son wrote my mom yesterday and she called me and read it to me. He said mainly the same things he told me, but noparticulars about how his training is coming. He said how good the food it and that it's really not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I guess boys can deal with the getting yelled at better than some girls. (I hope your daughter is doing alright in that area) And I have yet to receive the questionaire I sent out at the end of the 1st week. He said his bunkmate was from Ohio, and there is one from Maryland, Texas, and 2 other states around him. No names, so, I guess I'll have to ask specific questions nex time again. Since he's a guy, I guess they don't write as much as the girls do. We ahve only received 1 letter so far and 1 very short phone call.
that's all for now, Have a good day!
Yes Cyndi that is her & her dad.He misses her alot too but don't show it as much.( but I can tell )My phone call was short and sweet, not alot of info either! She did say that she has a job at RTC cleaning weapons and shining boots! I don't know if thats a good thing or bad! Find out for me.lol.She was told by a former SR that she better get her hair cut before she gets there or they will cut it CRAZY, so she did.
I will talk to you later. Let me know ANYTHING you find out!lol
Casey
Hi Casey,
My daughter says she is probably clearing weapons and sounds like she is "weapons PO" and it's a very good job! LOL about the hair cutting thing. We were told that same thing too from the recruiters.
We got a letter from my son on Thursday. I sent him a form letter and he sent it back with his answers. He's listed the guy friends he has and that he is doing well over all. He says he's not looking forward to battlestations or captains cup. I don't know why. I would hope he is pretty fit now. Time will tell.
C U later! Cyndi
Hi Casey!
Yes, I think they will, but I'm only guessing. There have been some posts of 157/158 doing Battlestations on the 27/28th, So it seems that 160/161/162 will be after that or early in May like the 1st? I hope it's earlier rather than later so they can have extra time to finish it if they have to do it over.
Guess what! I got another letter and Chris said he passed his w2nd PFR! He sounded so excited andproud of himself. That really made us feel good knowing that he did pass! It's just terrible not knowing anything about how they are really doing., ya know! He said he can do 59 pushups 62situps (?) and did the 1.5mile in 13:03 min. I don't know how good that really is, but I'll have to find out about the times for males. I just looked it up and it is passing, but not the best. Looks like he is Good/Medium for the situps and pushups and the same for the run. Hopefully he can trim off another few minutes off his scores for the next PFA.
We stillhaven't gotten our airlines tickets, but we have the hotel reservations and rental car. We are staying at the Ramada. How about you?
It's terrible that their skin gets so terrible there! I guess it's the combination of the extreme weather and them not being able to moisturize. When Suzi came home, her nuckles and fingers were all swollen and red and dry. Also her face was all broke out. They can go to the NEX and buy some moisturizer, but I don't know ;how much time they get to apply it except at bedtime. Poor things. How frustrating for those poor girls...
Thanks for the info on the group. I didn't know they were having trouble. Did she pass her PFA the 1st time? I don't think Chris did because he never said anything about it.
18 days!!!!!
I just got a call! I found out that it was only the girls that got IT! Thats why you didn't hear anything about them being in trouble!lol....( sorry about that). She said she Sucked really bad on live fire and felt like poo! Seeing how she is weapons PO!lol
Whatever that is.
LOL, That's funny about her sucking on live fire weapons and she is weapons PO!
I just realized I never answered you about the website I found.

I just typed in navy pfa standards in the browser search. Worked like a charm!
Chris called yesterday! But no one was home. So he left a message and called my cellphone, but I can't take it to into work, so he left another message and then he called his best friend and talked to his friends dad because he wasn't home either! Sheesh! Poor guy, anyway, his message said he now weighs only 176lbs. When he went in BC he weighed 189. We were worried about his weight before he went in. So he lost about 13 lbs in 6 wks. And he also lost about 5-7 lbs before he went in. Then he said he can't really say anything more or else he won't have anything to write about! LOL Crazy kids. Don't they know that EVERYTHING is interesting to us? haha
