It's 5 o'clock .....just one more day at work (well half a day, I have physical therapy tomorrow) and we are flying out on Thursday. Yeah!!!!

Physical therapy? I got in a bad car accident 2 weeks after he left...in his truck, technically not his truck in our name and we paid for it, but I totalled it. I had to tell him when he first called. : ( Luckily, I'm good and no one else was involved ..just dealing with minor neck issues.

I hope by now everyone has heard from their Sailors :) and have expierenced the same Jubilee that I felt when that call came.  I too would like to thank everyone for the invaluable comfort advice and information given to me these past couple of months.  I look forward to meeting you all and mostly holding my baby girl and band new Navy Soldier.  God Bless you all and America!

Have to tell you this....When he called on Friday, he sounded more focused (I didn’t want to say grown-up).  He wants to talk to me about other decisions during our visit.  He signed up for a 8% savings either a 457 plan or 403B (he didn't know what type (IRS code) plan it was for future retirement investments.  He said the Navy credit union came to talk to them all about such plans and getting a credit card.  He declined the credit card and said he wanted my advice on these types of things and other decisions he will be making.  He doesn’t want us to bring his cell phone or laptop during this visit.  He said if he needs it he will ask for us to ship it to him once he is settled. Really thinking things through.  It was a wow moment for me.  My baby’s growing up and making thought-out decisions on his own….yet knows to respectfully ask for my opinions with these type of financial decisions. So proud of him!!!!

I too want to thank all of you on this board.  When my only child, my son, left to go into the Navy, I was proud of him but I missed him soooo much.  I cried for two days and lost two days at work.   Being able to talk with all of you has made this journey much easier since I listen to you and you have the same emotions that I have.  So I know that I am not totally going crazy!!! Thank you, Navy sisters.   I love you all for being there for me.  I look forward to meeting all of you very soon!!!!   Mary

We're staying at the Spring Hill Suites too.  Did anyone go over the attire for graduation....any suggestions?  Looks like its cold with chance for rain on Thursday & Sat w/lightning according to my Weatherbug app.

I am so excited, I can barely stand it. Can't wait to meet all of you, you all have been a great source of information and support. I've been more on this site than FB since he left. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
