Defiancemom--Great News! Thanks for sharing it here. I don't always looks at the other div posts.
The recruiter called earlier & just about gave me a heart attack. Imagine waiting for the oh so important call and the caller ID says "Navy Recruiting Station"! They are needing more paperwork! Arrrrrrggggg
This waiting is torture!
Defiance Mom---
I am so happy that your son is now a sailor. What a relief! How great!!! I am so happy for you and your sailor. Congratulations!!! Mary
Everyone: I posted this on the Ship 12, Div 159 Board, but I thought I would also post it here. After much delay, many tears, and just a little bloodshed, I was able to talk to my son today and he is officially a Sailor!! As you might recall, he was pulled from his scheduled BS last week due to illness (which we only knew due to Martian). In speaking with the PAO Monday morning, they indicated he was to have run BS Sunday night so we should expect a call Monday night. Well . . . we received no such call. I was beside myself (I don't take disappointment well). My husband called the PAO again this morning asking whether he had misunderstood what he was told Monday morning or if there been additional delays due to his health. Upon checking, the PAO told my husband that my son would be calling shortly and my husband told them to call me (only because the PAO said it would be good news). My son called me probably 10 minutes later. The reason he didn't call last night was because he was in another division and when they went to place their calls, he wasnt' sure it pertained to him and he didn't know we were waiting to hear from him. Though I was very happy to hear from him, I was tempted to reach through the phone and choke him (but I kept that to myself).
He will return to his 159 divison this afternoon and graduate with them on Friday as was originally planned. He can't wait to see everyone, he still seemed a little under the weather but much better than the last time I spoke with him. My connection was awful for some reason and we only spoke for about 10 minutes, but at least I can talk to him again in only a few days.
Thank you all for your prayers and honest expressions of concern for our family and our SR . . . (or rather our Sailor). I have to also show appreciation to the fine group within the RTC Public Affairs Office. They quickly responded and fixed our issue to our complete satisfaction. They put that call together from thin air and it was very much appreciated.
