Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Mom of 3 sailors-   I think they have to clean the ship and have their capping ceremony.  Then there is the pizza party.  So.....your sailor will call in a couple of hours!   No worries.   The phone will ring!!

I want to cry everytime I get on this site. I am so excite for all of our boys and the support system we have from everyone here is unbelievable. Has definitely made this experience go smoother than expected

ForeverMom----   You wil get that call today.  I am sure that everyone in the 809 will pass.   They are a great group from what I have heard. Congrats that you nephew will be able to attend the PIR.  Woot!

Good luck to the families, especially moms, wives, and fiancees, today. I hope everyone of you get the "I am a sailor call."  They should be finished with battlestations now.   We got our call at about 11:45 A.M. Pacific Time-----so those calls will be rolling in in about 5 hours.  I agree with Dianne.

Phones glued to your bodies today....calls should start in about 5 hours or so!  Don't leave that phone for a second!

Thank you everyone, for all the information you relay. I enjoy reading all of your posts. I am sooo nervous for the phone call! I didn't sleep well at all. I prayed for all of the soon to be Sailors! Good luck everbody!
