Our box came by FedEx.  Can anyone tell me how the form letter will come (regular mail, FedEx, etc.).

foreverMom:  Well, that could be!

Yes, strange, Lala, that foreverMom got her box in regular mail as I have never heard of that either.

fluteface; you call the recruting office to get the info. I had an appt. very near their office so that's why I just stopped in. I had met the recruiters last Tuesday and they encouraged me to call or stop in if I had any questions. Very nice people!

This is the first time I have heard of the box arriving reg mail.

They tell them to roll the pants legs up to be fitted for shoes, then they are not told to roll them back down and they are so afraid of doing anything without permission they just leave them rolled up lol.

...so, aveoamare:  Here's the question...will you wash them right away...or keep them around in "as is" condition for a while???  We have read both on this site!
Comment by aveoamare(Ship02div925) on March 15, 2011 at 12:05pm
well i got my box, it came fedex.  I was walking my son around the complex and saw the truck pull up and I just new what it was.  I posted on facebook and I'll repeat it here, "just got my box, pants were rolled up to fit his boots, his cell was in his coat pocket....it was like he had evaporated and left a pile of clothes.  No wonder they call it 'recruit in a box'"

Here are some other links for the boot camp videos (these are a bit more recent)

http://www.navy.mil/swf/mmu/mmplyr.asp?id=15439

Then same website with 15440, 15441, and 15442 at the end instead of 15439.

aveoamare-that was funny lol. When my sailor was there her RDc said something (in a fun joking way) about a red jeep and pink sunglasses. He never said where this info came from and she suspected facebook. When I got to talk to her I told her that those were the 2 pics I had on this site lol. She said is wasn't a big deal that he had just laughed about it and it drove her crazy trying to figure out how he knew. The next time he was joking around with her she laughed and said navy for mom's, he laughed and said yeah, your mom is pretty popular there, everyone loves the ribbons she makes :-) In my next letter she had 3 friends who wanted to order ribbons for their families lol. It was pretty cool, glad he was nice about the whole thing.
