I got my call....so happy!!. We were able to talk for a long while and he was also able call his dad at home.  2 calls!!! Yeah. He also said they were able to get a soda and a candy bar.  My husband said it best...he and his groups should be proud of their accomplishment and they are the in best Navy in the world...something to be very proud of. I can now breathe and in a week we will be able to see our "Sailors".  Congrats to all the new Sailors out there and to the parents of all these great men/women.  Go Navy!  Thank you all for the support.

All of the members of 159 who went through battle stations passed; unfortunately we've heard that several 159ers were not able to participate.

My friend took SO many pictures of my husband today, I really am so thankful for all the wonderful people I've met along the way on this crazy journey.

I hope the phones start ringing soon!

navysis, cell phones, ipods, etc are forbidden at RTC. They can be given to the sailors at the airport before they fly out. If their A school is at GL, I think they can get them after they check into school after PIR.

diannep, yikes! 2 graduations in one day, that IS a lot to do in a day! We will at least get to spend Friday's liberty with our sailor, then Friday night will head home (at least 10 hour drive) so our younger son will be home in time for prom on Saturday night. Our school has a 'Grand March' at 3:00 in the afternoon where all the kids walk across the stage to show off their prom dresses & such to all the parents that come to watch. (I think it's a bit strange myself, but it's a tradition here). That's why we can't be at the airport. The things we do for our kids!!!! Gotta love 'em :-)!

Im wondering if people are bringing cell phones and Ipods to their SR for after PIR. Will the be able to bring these with as they move to A school? Thanks. Ad Yahoo for last nights round of battlestations!

I just got a wonderful letter from my son!  (no Sailor call yet though).  He said he got at least "sharpshooter" but doesn't know for sure till he picks up his ribbons at the NEX.  Everyone around him said they thought he got "expert".  Said the gas chamber (the 24th?) sucked and his eyes began to sting immediately and he started to cough.  I don't know why he waited to tell us this good news about his live fire test, but, what the hay, I'm just glad he did.

I could barely sleep last night and praying this morning for him to get through battlestations.  Now just waiting for the call.  Thought I'd stay close to home for the rest of the day instead of going out shopping.  Then I'm at least next to 2 phone numbers... hahaha

Robin:  :-)   so you can at least be in voice contact with him after you all head out of GL. YAH for that kind N4Mom!  They are a great bunch, aren't they???  You being ONE of them!  :-)

You will need a LONG NAP after accomplishing all of this.  Was it on this PIR group that I read of a N4M planning on being at her son's PIR on a Friday morning, only to have to leave by 1:45pm that day to make it to her daughter's high school graduation at 6 pm that night on the opposite side of the country?  WOW!  I was so touched by that!  A Big HOOYAH to her.  Just can't remember which PIR group I read that in...I'm on too many!
