12/166Mom:  We used the main gate when there also, but I know there had been construction around the base not long ago.  I was told that directions were posted and were very easy to follow.  So I wouldn't worry.

Please be careful when talking about the specifics of the password on this site.  That is issued to each family for security reasons, obviously.  And if you didn't receive your form letter, you will see how hard it is to get the password from the Public Affairs Office...they will not give you the password.  That is how important it is that this word remain confidential.

I know everyone on here wants to help all out...of course....but remember...this is a public site...anyone can join it and we are not aware of all who is on it.  I had an issue with the password when my son was there.  He was asmoed and put then into another division.  I had no password for the new division.  I too asked for this on the site, and was told very firmly that they are not allowed to give it out, which I understood.  I emailed the Public Affairs Office and told them the situation.  They asked for the password from my son's original division (thank goodness I kept the letter) before they would give me the new one.  I don't believe they would have given me the new one had I not had the old one.

Remember, you only need the password for the gate pass.  However, you do not need a gate pass if you take the hotel shuttles to PIR.  You also don't need one to drop your SR back off at the base if you drop him/her off at the front gate. But it is better to have it just in case (it allowed us to drive my son onto the base when returning him PIR night), so hopefully all have their passwords and will be able to print out the gate pass.

Good morning!  This week is going to be bad for sleep if last night was any indication.  My nerves are tied up in knots!

I had the weirdest dream, so I'm on this rooftop building and its being torn apart by tornadoes. I am surrounded by all these wonderful women, and as the tiles rip off one by one, one woman falls away. We are left standing on a single beam together, and everyone starts praying.  I think you guys are the women praying around me.  It was a very telling dream.

Thank you! I know the feeling of not sleeping. I did sleep for about 3 hours after my son called today though. I'm elated and excited to get to Chicago for PIR 5/6!

My boyfriend's mother doesn't recall receivinga form letter with the password to get the gate pass. What do I do? Is there someone at public affairs that could help me?
