Congrats to all the new sailors! My son PIR'd 4/1. It is an unforgettable time. I will tell you though that he did not get to make the I'm a Sailor call due to having watch duty, so remember, no news is good news. If your SR doesn't call he/she will still be graduating on time.

Enjoy PIR andCongrats to all!! HOOYAH!

Congratulations, EbiGirl!!!  Yeah!   I am so sorry that our sailors (Doesn't that sound great!!!)  are sick.  Thank goodness they have time to get well before PIR.   My son told my husband that he will try to call me on Tuesday.  I can't hardly wait for that call!!!!!!

Mine just called!! I have a United States Sailor!! I can't tell you how relieved and elated I am. Just hearing his voice was thrilling. He said he's sick with sore throat, fever and headache. When they started battlestations last night at 8pm they had been up since 6AM.

He told me that he almost fell asleep, got caught nodding off and got yelled at for it. RDC warned him that if he did it again he would stand outside the ship until BS were over and WATCH the rest of his division brothers/sisters capping ceremony, and he could start over tonight with NO sleep. His division brothers helped him through BS to the end, and he did pass. In the end they did come together as a group. Thank God for good friends watching out for each other. :)

Velvetlace-mine is sick with a sore throat, stuffed up also. He said he's headed to medical and then to bed...he's exhaused and I could hear it in his voice. Congratulations to you...I'm so sorry you couldn't talk to your son. :(
