Corpsman A School- Anyone from this group's SRs going?

I didn't hear from my SR any word on her A school orders. She'll be going to corpsman training. Her recruiter told her she'd go to GL (even though a few weeks before she left, he told her it might be San Antonio). I'm hearing thru N4M, that they're sending all corpsman to SA now. Either way- does anyone know how long we'll have with our SRs after PIR? 

Besides that, I thought a discussion group of us with corpsman can share any info we get on that anyway. Come join in!

Teach, you gave me goosebumps.  Who better to have out in that crazy world than young men and women who can let their lights so shine that others seeing their good works may glorify their Father who is in Heaven?  And now I have even more faith than ever that she will make it.  :)

Gnome, I have never failed to produce more tears even after I have dumped bucketloads.  There always seems to be a fresh supply.  :)

I'm just coming back around to my faith and reintroducing myself to God...even though he knows me like no other and has been there with me all along. I know it's an ongoing process, but both my husband and I have agreed that a marriage centered around Christ is the best kind of marriage...so we are working on it. Your prayers and motivation and Christ-centered words of encouragement mean a lot to me. It's hard for me to be serious sometimes, and I'll joke around to make light of the situation. But you ladies never fail to speak the truth...and God's Holy words.I got my SR a bible (the same one I bought myself) as his graduation gift...and it has his name engraved on it with a little American flag next to it). I'm excited for us to go through the bible together (both versions have the same study guides and questions). Just keepin' it real. :)

I could use some prayers tonight...in a lot of pain. Hopefully it's not me getting sick (I feel sick a lot of the time, as you've probably noticed...I hope it doesn't come across as me complaining-just hoping for prayers because they do help) because I HAVE TO MAKE IT TO PIR! Between my fevers and sinus issues and arthritis pain...man. I feel like I'm 80. :)

girlsyk-my husband has made jokes about my never-ending supply of tears. What can I say? I'm an emotional kind of gal. :)

Good for you gnomes.  I went through that from about age 18-21.  I believe that life without God prepares you better than anything else for life with Him.  :)  He is always there, we sometimes wander but He doesn't.  I still wax and wane a little, it's always me that pulls away, usually because I get super tired, depressed, or a little lazy.  I truly cannot afford to skip daily scripture study and prayer.  You'd think I would learn but I put other things first and then fall apart and RUN back to those things that bring me peace. 

I too would rather laugh than cry so I love to be goofy, joke around, play, and tease, but when push comes to shove, I know from whence my strength comes (and it ain't from anything in this world, ha ha)! 

Because you are seeking things that are of eternal value, there will be plenty of temporary opposition.  Just hold tight to the Lord and never be deceived by imitations. 

You are right about your marriage.  Mine ended because my spouse forsook covenants and broke basic commandments even having been a leader in our church.  Anyone can be tempted and led astray.  A

nd as for the emotions...more often than not, that is how the spirit works in us.  When our hearts are tender, we are teachable, when our hearts are hard, the spirit cannot penetrate them. 

No matter the opposition, you will make it to PIR.  If we have to hold you up by the armpits then that's what we will do.  :)

gnome~ I'm sending prayers your way too.

 

I am so enjoying this group and how strong the faith is in it. I have relied on my faith in God to get me through one day at a time. Being a Military spouse faith is what gets you through most days and not just for me, but my husband as well. Not only do you have to have faith in each other, but faith in GOD to make sure your loved ones are ok. There have been many days that I felt like God was carrying me just to get me back on my feet. I have always believed in the power of prayer. I pray for my son a lot. He was growing in his faith when his mentor died of an infection that never should have happened and although he prays everynight, he stopped going to church. I am praying that he will find the right people in the Navy that will get him going back to church and feeling like he can rely fully on God again.

 

I just came acrossed this "thought for the day" Even in the darkest hour, God cares for us.

 

I'm with you all on the endless supply of tears. My husband laughs at me sometimes. I know how you ladies enjoy a good laugh, picture this........my 16 year old daughter has "house olympics" tomorrow at school, her team what given Greece as there country to represent, so she is making Baklava..........her dad is helping her. Two know it all's in my kitchen, I would much rather be out her with you. lol

Better...not 100% (still feverish, headache, achey) but honestly better. Sleep helped...going to drink lots today and take some sort of nighttime pain killer to help me sleep last night. Thank you for asking and for your prayers. :)

G, love the faith here too.  When I was younger I thought I understood the footsteps poem, as I get older, I look back and REALLY understand.  I sometimes feel ungrateful for all the bellyaching I did while he was carrying me and I didn't realize it.

Gnomes, your post was 10 hours old by the time I got to see it.  I hope the last 10 hours has brought more improvement.  Rest rest rest!!!!

Good evening ladies. The wind here has given me a headache and now I'm tired, but still need to study for my tests Thurs & Mon. Lots of water and a stop in here to say HI. Been thinking about you all today and hope that everyone is doing good.

 

The baklava turned out good. different than the last time she made it and I'm not sure which way I like better. Wish I could bring some to you all, but it is so sticky that I think it would make a big mess, so I'll send it to work with my husband tomorrow.

 

Gnomes. I understand how you are feeling, sounds like something similar to what I had last week, I was exhausted all week and had the achy, headache, but I kept telling myself I didn't have time to be sick. We are all praying for you and know you will be fine on Friday:)

 

Well I better get studying, but had to share my thought for today first " Today I will be thankful for the "little" blessings God sends."

 

Just out of curiosity where is everyone staying? We are staying at the Red Carpet in, but won't get in until close to midnight. See you Friday ladies:)

Seriously...no time to be sick...my dad jokingly said that I won't be able to go to PIR and I said "Over my dead body!!" Not missing that for the world. :)

I'm staying at the Hilton Garden Inn at Lake Forest Mettawa...about 20 minutes from base I think. My dad let me use some of his Hilton honors points, woohoo!

i started to reply this morning, but got interupted by a phone call from my oldest son. It was so nice to talk to him, but I was almost late getting out of the house to get to school.

 

I can hardly believe that we fly out tomorrow. I have been studying for my test that I have to take at 8am. I have been praying a lot and trying to remain unstressed by school and the trip to graduation. You have all been in my thoughts today and I know you are all just as excited to see your Sailor as I am to see mine.

 

Well it's time to take the dogs out, pack and get to bed, but I will leave you with this thougth for the day  "Nothing can separate us from God's love!"
